Guest guest
Namaste I have been doing regular homas for the last six months. Now recently, I have started having incessant problems of not being able to digest food properly, specially what I eat at night. Incessant states of stomach upset and stomach ailments have been afflicting me since the last one and half months. Daily. I was wonder what kind of food is most suitable while continuing homas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Should it be an entirely fructivorous diet? Specially at night? -Regards Rajarshi
Guest guest
Namaste Rajarshi ji, I know you must have taken medical advise. what i suggest is lesser intake then normally what yourintake at night. If you are eating 5 chapatis, try to make it 3 or so. the point is that stumach shood not be full at night. that might help. one more suggetion if it is acceptable to you. I chant following mantra while starting dinner (or whenever start eating) and also pray :'Mother please remove any impurties from the food and digest it in such a way that it doesnot result in to any bad thoughts but help in purifying the negativity'. " Annapurne Sadaapurne Shankar Praan Vallabhe, Gnyaan vairaagya sidhyartham, BhikshaaNdehich paarvati " just my 0.5 sents, warm regards, utpal , " rajarshi14 " <rajarshi14 wrote: > > Namaste > > I have been doing regular homas for the last six months. Guest guest
Namaste Utpalji Thanks for the advice. I have noted down the mantra you mentioned. I think this is happeninign because of the homas. Some the fire of digestion of food gets affected by homas. Actually after this stomach problem started, and it has been every day for more than a month and half now, I reduced my food intake at night. I nowadays take about one chapati or maximum two. But I am thinkinh, should I include more fruits kind of diet? Will that help? Thank you for you mail. Guest guest
Namaste Rajarshi bhai, I also agree with you. you can try only on Fruits/salads in dinner for a couple of weeks. please try some digestive also. Rice or 'Khichadi' can also be one more option. i have no idea if Homam can have such effects. Narayana or ravi or narasimha or some others who are performing homa for couple of years can give some valuable information out of experience. warm regards, utpal , rajarshi nandy <rajarshi14 wrote: > > Namaste Utpalji > > Thanks for the advice. Guest guest
Namaste Rajarshi, I have discussed briefly with Narasimha on your very question. I know he may not be able to get to reply soon, hence my attempt. On Homas : Firstly, As one does homa regularly, especially Chandi or Bhairava, one's apaana may go up during the initial period of saadhana. When this happens, one may experience digestive problems. Apaana is that vaayu in the gross body which expels the food that is rejected by the body. As one's saadhana progresses and evolves spiritually, one's apaana may go down and have the urge for a bowel movement. Secondly, if you are doing homa after having your meal, light or heavy, you can experience digestive problems. (I know someone who tried this and concluded it to be a terrible idea). When you do homa with your stomach filled, the fire that is generated internally will be diverted for the use of your food digestion. It is not serving it's actual purpose, ie burn karmas, remove impurities and purify one. So, that's why in the manual it is advised to not start your homa until after 2 hours of food intake. It may be actually best to do homa when you are really very hungry. I hope you do not fall into the second section. On fructivorous diet and suitable food for Homas : Our body adjusts to what we get it used to. If one eats one chapati every night, after few weeks, two chapatis may seem an overkill. If one sleeps for 4 hours for few weeks, one may get used to the same. If you are able to get the proper nutrients with your food, then it does not matter whether you are eating fruits only or chapatis or a cup of milk and few fruits at night. Fruits, especially that contain fiber, help one digest the food easily. Give some time for your body to digest the food before you go to bed. Try to eat as saatvik food as possible. It definitely helps in one's spritual progress.
