Guest guest
Namaste, It is fine to do both successively. The following 2 approaches can be used: (1) Do Ganapathi homam and then do Kuja homam, separately, one after the other. (2) Take a combined sankalpa, do Ganapathi homam procedure fully until uttarngam. When you finish punah pooja, don't go to uttarangam, but go to Kuja homam procedure and directly invoke Kuja in fire. At the end, do uttarangam and do one combined poornaahuti. Some people offer a separate poornaahuti to each deity before switching to another deity. After you finish Ganapati mantras, you offer punah pooja to him and then offer a poornaahuti and then proceed to invoke Kuja in fire. In this tradition, a poornaahuti is offered after punah pooja to each deity before switching to another deity, and a final poornaahuti is offered at the end after uttaraangam to all deities together. However, it is perfectly fine to do a single poornaahuti. If all this confuses you, simply do (1). Guest guest
Namaste I am planning to do homa of Gayatri mantra too on a regular basis along with my regular homa. Is it ok to invoke Goddess Savitri into the same fire in which I am doing a homa of Lord Bhairava. For homa of the Gayatri mantra, how do you use the mantras for naivedyam and niranjanam. For example for Chandi homa this mantra is used: om namaçcaëòikäyai| naivedyaà samarpayämi| What to use when doing homa for Gayatri mantra? And if two homas are being done in the same fire with one poornahuti, which dieties name do we take while offering the poornahuti? Please give one example of the poornahuti mantra in such a case. -Regards Rajarshi The upsurge (of consciousness) is Bhairava - Shiva Sutra--- On Sun, 8/3/09, Narasimha P.V.R. Guest guest
Namaste, Rishi panchami is going to run for another 15 hours or so. This is another good day for spiritual sadhana. You can call either Savita (all-pervading Sun) or Gayatri in the fire and do the homam. For the standard Gayatri mantra, deity is Savita. Gayatri is the chhandas (carrier). The mantra can be offered to either. If you want to address mother Gayatri, you can replace "om namashchaNDikaayai" below with "om gaayatrI devyai namaH". If you want to address Savita, then you can say "om savitre namaH". Regarding poornaahuti, there are different methods: (1) Offer a poornaahuti to each deity after you finish their mantra, naivedyam, neeraajanam etc. At the very end, after uttaraangam, vasordhara, do a final poornaahuti to all together. (2) After naivedyam and neeraajanam, move on to the next deity. At the end, do uttaraangam, vasordhaaraa etc and do one poornaahuti for all deities together and then meditate. Say the names of all deities and give poornaahuti. Poornaahuti means complete surrender. You can see the Supreme Cosmic Being in each deity and completely surrender. But if you do multiple deities, you can see the supreme cosmic being in all of them, surrender to the supreme being in all of them together.
