I have been doing the super short procedure of homa for quite some

time. I wanted to include the parivar devate ahuti. So when should it

be done in the procedure and what mantra to use for it?

Namaste Rajarshi, Aahutis for Parivara Devata are offered after the panchopara (or shodashopachara) puja of the main diety. I am unsure of which homa you are referring to, but Narasimha has mentioned the mantras for Chandi, Sri Krishna and Siva in their respective manuals. For chandi -- om yoginyaadibhyah candika parivaara devataabhyo nama svaahaaRegardsRavirajarshi14

Namaste,

If you invite a VIP to your house, he will come with various associates. After you invite the VIP inside, seat him and give him drinks, snacks etc, you may say hi to all the associates also. You may say hi to all of the together or say hi to each of them specifically.

In the Chandi homam manual, I have mentioned aahutis to tens of deities and the alternative is to just give an aahuti to all of them together as Ravi mentioned below. Both are given in the manual.

Exactly which deities are covered depends on what homam you are doing.

Yes I have seen the manuals. My doubt was mostly regarding which mantra to you. I have doing homa of Bhairava based on the standard procedure you mentioned in your manuals. So I wanted to know what would be a one line mantra for parivar devata ahuti in my case. Can I use the mantra mentioned in the Shiva homa manual?

Namaste Rajarshi ji,

Yes, I suppose. you can use *that one line mantra* for offering

aahuti to Parivaar devatas of Bhairava.

But please replace the SadaShiva with Bhairava, nahito Bhairava dada

ke parivaar wale bura maan jayenge;)

Warm Regards,

Dear Rajarshiji,Though resp.Narsimhaaji and other scholars on this forum are better off commenting on this - a quick line from an unqualified one like me :Sadaashiva is not the destroyer form of the TRIDEVA . Sadaashiva is the divine entity mentioned in Vedas and is the Omniscient,Omnipresent and Omnipotent formless being -Tejomaya swarup who can take forms as He wishes. I do not know but IMHO- Believers think that Sadaashiva is greater than the greatest and is impervious(virakta-udaasin) to the presence of attendant Devatas-like if they are there fine .... Of course the attendant Devatas will always be there but may be keeping a respectful distance.I think Bhairava is one of the forms of Shiva and He is akin to Mahaakaala-the Supreme Yogi and renouncee in timeless form.Bhairavaji surely has many attendants-maybe those divine forces who

want to absolve the last traces of their Taamasika bhava in the divine precsence of Bharavaji. There maybe errors in my understanding and the Learned scholars may speak on this fascinating subject of Sadaashiva and Bhairava.Humble regards, amit --- On Sat, 2/28/09, rajarshi nandy <rajarshi14 wrote:rajarshi nandy <rajarshi14Re: Re: Parivar Devata Ahuti Date: Saturday, February 28, 2009, 5:16 AM
