Guest guest
Namaste The region around Ujjain is considered the heart of spiritaul india. A lot of Mahatmaas in Sookma Sareer stay in that Malwa Region and river Chambal. Please pardon my spellings. Amongst the famous Harisiddhi Mata Temple one of the Shakti Peets and ShivLinga Temples. Ujjain is also famous for Raja Bharathat Hari cave. Raja Barathari is considered as one of the 9 Naths from the Nath Sampradaya. He meditated for a long time and then he went south to Devas, a small town near Indore. The legend is, a drop of blood from Sati when Lord Shiva was carrying the corpse feel in Devas too. And in the same place on a hill there is a Chamunda Devi Temple. A lot of great Mahatmas since 1400 Have been staying and meditating there, starting with Raja Barathari, then came the Poet Chand Bardai and then Sheelnath Maharaj and Swami Shri VishnuTirth Maharaj in the 20th century. Over and above the temple now there is Sheelnath maharaj Dhuni Sanstan and also Swami VishnuTirth Maharaj's Ashram located in the valley of the hill where Mother Chamunda temple is situated. Mother in this temple manifested many times and gave guidance and darshan to all of the above saints. I am sure there are others who benefited too. They all stayed at the Temple in devas. It is said even today many Mahatmas in Sooksma sareer come to pray Chamunda Devi on a regular basis. Best Regards Mitesh
Guest guest
Namaskaaram Miteshji, Thanks for the interesting info.on Ujjain's surroundings. As you have mentioned the most famous place here is the Jyotirlinga of Bhagwan Mahaakaleshwar and equally vibrant place is Shakti sthaana of Maa Harasiddhi Devi.Incidentally,Maa Harasiddhi has another Seat for Raatrivaas or nightstay near Porbandar -Gujarat. Raaja Bhartruhari is the revered creator of two immortal classics : Nitishataka and Shringarashataka-his life is a message to all people to understand the redundance of the mundane wealth, beauty and affection. He first created 'Shringaara shataka' describing how the richly endowed people should enjoy life.... the Kaalachakra turned a full cycle and he was short-changed by his beloved -Raani Pingala. The mighty king takes to the ascetic life and at the peak of self-realization-he created another everlasting creation-' Niti shataka ' ....Strange are the ways of Almighty !!! The scholar of Shringaara (read Bhogi) turns the scholar of Niti (roughly putting:Systems as in particle physics definition). Some people believe that Sage Bhartruhari is still roaming in India and grants Darshan to few lucky saadhakas. Guest guest
Namaskaaram Amit Bhai, Our own resourceful Mitesh has provided good information of Ujjain and Shree Maa and other places where Yagyas are performed. " Ujjainiya Mahaakaalm... " ! My Parents visited Mahaakaal last year. it is also said that, the main attraction of Mahaakaal is to attend their early mroning Bhasma Aarati. and people told me that it is a custom to bring the ashes of last cremated body from the nearby smashaan for the Bhasma Abhiskek. by the way it is well known that Amitabh Bachhan has a turn around in his career after rirual performed at Mahaakaleshwar. KBK thing happened and came out from debt etc.. Ujjain was once the capital of great king Vikramaaditya. Gujarati calander year, which is Vikram Samvat is also named after him. so gujaraatis have connection to Ujjain:) I am not sure but is Raja Bhartuhari considered as one of the Chiranjivis? and was under the impression that the name of his treaty was Vairaagya Shataka. but not much important. how much information we'll store in this memory and what we will do with that. warm regards, utpal , Amit Trivedi <sonat64 wrote: > > Namaskaaram Miteshji, > Thanks for the interesting info.on Ujjain's surroundings. Guest guest
Dear Utpal bhai, namaskarams In the Ujjayani or Ujjain temple, the bhasma arati nowadays is performed with ash from cowdung cakes and not as the popular legend goes. Nevertheless, it is a very thrilling experience and one is almost mesmerized as the priest sprinkles the ash in a very fluid and energetic manner. I saw some avadhutas coming to worship the lingam at that time. I live about 270 km from Ujjain. best regards Hari On Fri, Feb 27, 2009 at 10:35 AM, utpal pathak <vedic_pathak wrote: Namaskaaram Amit Bhai,Our own resourceful Mitesh has provided good information of Ujjain and Shree Maa and other places where Yagyas are performed. Guest guest
Namaste Amitji You are correct he did compose some books but I have not yet read his works. His Guru was of the two Mastsendra Nath or GorakNath. He is the elder brother of Vikramaditya, and as he is considered one of the nine naths. He does guide spritual seekers in his soksma sareer. One need not be chiranjivi to do that. All of Nav Naths do it today too. Guest guest
Dear Utpal, > but not much important. how much information we'll store in this > memory and what we will do with that. Good thinking. The purpose of memory, intelligence and knowledge is only to help one pay back karmik debts and fulfill one's dharma. But good memory, good knowledge and good intelligence are highly binding and ego inflating. One needs to consciously try to overcome that and keep attachment and pride at bay. Guest guest
Namaskaaram Utpalji,A real gem from you-how much to remember ?!? Suppose I have memorized this-how much to remember.I am a researcher by profession and often wonder -how much to remember ???You are absolutely right in pointing out what I have mistakenly stated "Niti Shataka"-It should have been VAIRAGYA SHATAKA...My sincere apology for the unintended misinformation.Strange-i have wanted to write V.Shataka and wrote his being ascetic/renouncing the 'Samsaara',etc.A small clarification-I have not meant to say Raaja Bhartruhari is the Chranjiva like Bhagwan Parashuraama or Sri Sri Ashwathaamaa- I have mentioned that many believe that R.B.still roams in India and grants Darshana to the deserving.Again thanks for that poser on memory,Humble regards, amit --- On Fri, 2/27/09, utpal pathak <vedic_pathak wrote:utpal pathak <vedic_pathak Re: Region of Ujjain Date: Friday, February 27, 2009, 5:05 AMNamaskaaram Amit Bhai,Our own resourceful Mitesh has provided good information of Ujjain and Shree Maa and other places where Yagyas are performed."Ujjainiya Mahaakaalm..." ! Guest guest
Jay Shri Krashana Amit Bhai, you did not provide wrong information. Niti Shataka was also from *Bharathri* - (No spelling mistake here- My Grandma use to pronounciate like that). *** Few beings are considered Chiranjivis in our sanaatan Dharma. as you mentioned - Parshuraam, Aswatthama. i'll add Hanumaan ji to it. I don't remember exactly but my grand father mentioned to me in my childhood, Bhartuhari's name also in the same batch of chiranjivis. but not sure. i didn't mention his name as one of the chiranjivis because you said that he gives darshan some times to some saadhaka. i just mentioned it becuase, his name was discussed and i had some information or mis information. I know:) that one need not be a chiranjivi (as per our classical text) to grant darshana to some modern aspirants. by the way no body has visited me with sookshma sharira yet so i've no experience of that. warm regards, utpal , Amit Trivedi <sonat64 wrote: > > Namaskaaram Utpalji, > A real gem from you-how much to remember ?!? > Suppose I have memorized this-how much to remember. > I am a researcher by profession and often wonder -how much to remember ??? > > You are absolutely right in pointing out what I have mistakenly stated " Niti Shataka " -It should have been VAIRAGYA SHATAKA...My sincere apology for the unintended misinformation. > Strange-i have wanted to write V.Shataka and wrote his being ascetic/renouncing the 'Samsaara',etc. > A small clarification-I have not meant to say Raaja Bhartruhari is the Chranjiva like Bhagwan Parashuraama or Sri Sri Ashwathaamaa- I have mentioned that many believe that R.B.still roams in India and grants Darshana to the deserving. > > Again thanks for that poser on memory, > Humble regards, > amit > > > > --- On Fri, 2/27/09, utpal pathak <vedic_pathak wrote: > utpal pathak <vedic_pathak > Re: Region of Ujjain > > Friday, February 27, 2009, 5:05 AM > > Namaskaaram Amit Bhai, > > Our own resourceful Mitesh has provided good information of Ujjain > and Shree Maa and other places where Yagyas are performed. > > " Ujjainiya Mahaakaalm...
