Guest guest
Namaste, Mars can give diseases, debts (including financial debts), enemies, litigation, quarrels, wars etc and also the energy to fight and overcome those problems. Propitiation of Mars is useful to a lot of people these days. Compared to meditating with the mantra of any deity or worshipping an idol or a kalasha, it is more powerful to offer the mantra in fire. I was instructed by my spiritual master, who was told by the divine Mother, to teach simple procedures for worshipping various deities in fire and spread the ritual of homam in the world. As the world goes through an interesting phase in the coming years, it will be good to have a large number of people performing homam to various deities on a regular basis around the world. Several manuals for doing homam (fire ritual) to various deities in 30-40 minutes are already there on my website. More manuals will be added in the course of time. Now, I have added a manual for a short Kuja homam for Mars that can performed everyday or once every week (Tuesday or some other day) or once every month. It is hoped that some people will take advantage of this manual, get some relief from the material troubles given by Mars that block their spiritual progress, make some spiritual progress and also contribute to the well-being of the world in a small way. Guest guest
Namaste, Enhancing martian traits may help one and checking such traits may help another. One wanting to take Interstate highway I-95 to go north may have to first go a little east or west to get onto that highway. Similarly, in order to fulfil one's dharma and ready oneself for serious spiritual progress, one person may have to enhance martian traits and another person may have to suppress them. Homam or japam with Mars mantra can do both. Bottomline is this: You follow the signs to I-95 without worrying about whether you are going east or west. You will eventually end up on I-95 and start going north fast. Similarly, start doing homam or japam with the mantra of a chosen deity without worrying about the effect on you. You will eventually end up making spiritual progress. Guest guest
Dear Amitji Sorry for interrupting your email to Narasimhaji. He is no doubt the best person to answer these queries, but I would still like to share my thoughts on them. Irrespective of how a planet is placed in the chart, doing homa for a planet helps to make the graha happy and a happy planet can only help a person. This is not like wearing some gemstone. As Narasimha's documents mention right in the beginning, homa is a process of sustainance of dharma and nature of any being and universe at large. Its goal is much larger and broader than just a mere planetary influence. So when someone is doing homa for Kuja, he/she is acting as a meduim for "sustainance" of Kuja in all his totality. And I believe since Narayan is the Supreme Being who sustains everything,. every homa is but His doing. Also these mantras of Kuja are taken from what the Rishis had given us, therefore they are always benefic for us. I believe there can be no harm in doing Kuja homa irrespective of how malefic or benefic it is in the personal chart. Just my two cents. I am sure Narasimhaji can much better perspective on this question. -Regards Rajarshi The upsurge (of consciousness) is Bhairava - Shiva Sutra--- On Mon, 26/1/09, Amit Trivedi <sonat64 wrote: Amit Trivedi <sonat64Re: Kuja (Mars) homam manual available now Date: Monday, 26 January, 2009, 2:30 PM Respected Sri Narsimhaji,May I request guidance on :Will it be a good idea to perform Kuja Homam for subjects who have Atmakarka Mangal ?Will it enhance martian traits in such people or will it help check such traits ?Of course, the Kuja Homam will be performed for spiritual progerss only with no will for material gains, etc.Thanking sincerely, amit --- On Mon, 1/26/09, Narasimha P.V.R. Guest guest
|om|Dear Fellow travellers, namaste All this talk about Mangal reminds me about one question I've had for quite sometime. Sometime ago, Sanjayji had advised me to go to any Hanuman temple and get a mantra for lifting up the Mangal in my natal chart which suffers from rajabhanga (uccha in rasi and neecha in navamsa). When I visited the Hanuman deity in Sri Veetirundha Perumal temple, Thirumazhisai near Chennai and asked the priest about a mantra, he advised me to chant the mantra inscribed on the walls of the temple |sri ram jaya ram jaya jaya ram| which comes out to be a 7 word, 10 aksharas mantra. Energy from the 7th house to the 10th house with the mantra devata sitting in lagna as per mantra shastra teachings. I've been doing this every evening since. Later I came to know this is the Rama taraka mantra. My question is how does this mantra help to counter the rajabhanga of Mangal? Secondly what is the correct form of the Rama taraka mantra? Is it |om sri ram jaya ram jaya jaya ram| - 8 words, 11 aksharas or |om sri rama jaya rama jaya jaya rama|? - 8 words, 14 aksharas Some say it should be 13 aksharas.... Guest guest
Dear Hari, Repeating any combination of syllables with a focussed mind will eventually do the trick on the mind. So you may do either. However, some combinations tried by others successfully in the past are better and faster. Regarding the specific mantra below: The words "raam" and "jay" (or "jai") have no meaning in Sanskrit. They should be "raama" and "jaya" respectively. Arabic has words mostly ending in consonants (i.e. no vowel "a" at the end of the word). That Arabic influence made Indians change Sanskrit words to remove "a" at the end of words. "Jaya Raama" becomes "Jay Raam". If you want your mantra to be meaningful in Sanskrit, please restore "a" at the end of words. The correct version of the mantra is "Sree Raama Jaya Raama Jaya Jaya Raama". You can add "Om" at the beginning. * * * On our India trip in the summer of 2008, I and my guru went to many temples. There was one remote temple in BriahdDwaraka that had a nice level of spiritual vibrations. It is a temple of Hanuman and Makaradhwaja (Hanuman's son) together. Apparently some yogi did intense sadhana there for a few decades in the past (with the mantra you mentioned). The mantra above is written all over the walls of the temple. Though that yogi is not there now, the vibrations created by his sadhana are still there. We were quite impressed when we spent some time there. You have to take a boat to go from Dwaarakaa to BrihadDwaarakaa and then go inside the village (a few km from the main Krishna temple at BrihadDwaarakaa). It is a very small temple without any crowd, but has stronger spiritual energy than many famous temples. If any of you go to Dwaraka or Gujarat in general, I recommend visiting that temple and spending a couple of hours there. The mantra you gave reminded me of that temple. Guest guest
Rao Garu!!! I was always thinking that it is due to South Indian Accent, people of that part of india say Raama instead of Raam. Krishna instead of Krishna. I've a explanation for that. In devanagari script, (Take instance of Gita) it id written Krishn and not Krishna. another example is Durga Saptashati where it says " Shiv Uvvach " and not " Shiva Uvvach " please clear my doubts. Guest guest
My knowledge of Sanskrit is very rusty and minimal, so I would obviously defer to Narasimha-garu's learned opinion on this; however here is my $0.02. I think this is a case of " lost in transliteration " -- the trailing " a " that you refer to in South Indian accents may be pronounced as " uh " ; not " aa " -- That trailing " a " was probably added during transliteration to distinguish between the " virama " ( " stop " character, akin to a flipped comma character added at the bottom of the alphabet to indicate the sound stopping, e.g. the word " tat " when written in Devanagari) alphabets/words versus the complete sound of the last letter. In your examples, when written in Devanagari, the word Shiva does not have a virama attached to the " va " alphabet; which indicates that the sound should be completed, and hence when transliterated to english they attach the trailing " a " . Likewise for the Krishna example you provided. My apologies in advance if I'm wrong! Guest guest
Namaste, I heard it referred to as Bet Dwaraka by many people, but as Brihad Dwaraka by a learned old man. So I assumed that Bet is from Sanskrit word Brihat. Thanks for correcting me. Well, this is the land where Krishna lived and ruled, not too long back (just a few millennia back). No wonder it is full of devotional energy. Another place filled with an unbelievable level of devotional energy is Mayapur in Bengal and Aalandi near Pune. Girnar mountain at Junagadh in Gujarat and Arunachalam mountain at Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu are filled with an unbelievable level of mystical energy. Actually, India is filled with many places that have a high level of spiritual energy and conducive to quick spiritual progress if one stays in one place and does intense sadhana over a period of time. You have to take a boat to go from Dwaarakaa to BrihadDwaarakaa and then go inside the village (a few km from the main Krishna temple at BrihadDwaarakaa) . It is a very small temple without any crowd, but has stronger spiritual energy than many famous temples. Guest guest
Dear Seekers....Namaskaaram,Adding my bit of information,The Gujarati word Bet signifies ' island ' or a land mass surrounded by water.Bet Dwaraka is an island and one has to take a boat/launch from mainland Dwaraka. There is another place called Moola Dwaraka (the word Moola means 'Aadi' or 'original' in Gujarati) ... though not very near to Dwaraka but claimed by many saadhu to be the 'real' Dwaraka of Bhagawan Sri Krishna. Close to Moola Dwaraka is a vey vibrating place -the seat of Maata Harasiddhi, who stays for half the day in Ujjain(Madhya Pradesh State)-of valorous Mahaaraja Vikramaaditya. Anyone visiting Dwaraka or Porbander should attend the Sandhyaa Aarati at the dusk time- even people with minimal daily Saadhana feel the divine vibrations !!! This belt between Junagadha and Dwaraka is full of shrines, spiritual places as already written. The local populace prides in the lore that Arjuna-the ace archer was robbed,at Okha near Dwaraka by the local tribals, under the leadership of one 'Kaabaa'-who tamed Arjuna with his Archery skills !!!There is a saying in Gujarati- " Kaabe Arjun lootiyo- Wohi Dhanush Wohi Baan"The moral of this saying is to be humble and not get carried away by one's achievements, lest like the mighty Arjuna -one can get robbed of pride(read 'Ahamkaara') at the hands of ordinary tribal leader.... The place Okha is a corrupt form of sanskrit Ushaa - the daughter of 'Asura' who married after a stormy romance, Anirudhha-Son of Bhagawaan Sri Krishna. As Resp.Narasimhaji has written-Girnaar Parvata has strongly mystic vibrations -it is "The Seat" of Guru Dattatreya -No Wonder !!! What is vey interesting to note is that old scriptures and BPHS term Saurashtra as originally the "Land of Asura" people wherefrom should be judged using Ashtottari Dasaa ! I hope,in my enthusiasm I have not egressed too much from the spiritual trunk ! Namaskaaram, --- On Fri, 1/30/09, Narasimha P.V.R. Rao <pvr wrote: Narasimha P.V.R. Guest guest
Namaste, Yes, what you said is right. 'Bet' means Island in Gujarati and that is why it is Bet-Dwaraka. You must be knowing a Poem called " Okha Haran " which is quite famous amongst gujarati ladies (My mother's generation). They used to specially recite that long poem in 'Chaitra' Month. Saurashtra is also said to be birth place of Shani if i am not wrong. Thanks for the post best regards, utpal , Amit Trivedi <sonat64 wrote: > > Dear Seekers....Namaskaaram, > Adding my bit of information, > The Gujarati word Bet signifies ' island ' or a land mass surrounded by water. > Bet Dwaraka is an island and one has to take a boat/launch from mainland Dwaraka. The local populace prides in the lore that Arjuna-the ace archer was robbed,at Okha near Dwaraka by the local tribals, under the leadership of one 'Kaabaa'-who tamed Arjuna with his Archery skills !!! > There is a saying in Gujarati- " Kaabe Arjun lootiyo- Wohi Dhanush Wohi Baan " > The moral of this saying is to be humble and not get carried away by one's achievements, lest like the mighty Arjuna -one can get robbed of pride(read 'Ahamkaara') at the hands of ordinary tribal leader.... > The place Okha is a corrupt form of sanskrit Ushaa - the daughter of 'Asura' who married after a stormy romance, Anirudhha-Son of Bhagawaan Sri Krishna. > > As Resp.Narasimhaji has written-Girnaar Parvata has strongly mystic vibrations -it is > " The Seat " of Guru Dattatreya -No Wonder !!! > > What is vey interesting to note is that old scriptures and BPHS term Saurashtra as originally the " Land of Asura " people wherefrom should be judged using Ashtottari Dasaa ! > I hope,in my enthusiasm I have not egressed too much from the spiritual trunk ! > > Namaskaaram, > > > > > --- On Fri, 1/30/09, Narasimha P.V.R.
