Namaste,

I am glad. Good luck for future.

(1) Yes.

(2) Yes. If you say atharva seersham 8 times, you are putting 8x10 aahutis.

First 79 aahutis are with swaaha and the final aahuti in the 8th time

chanting (80th aahuti) is with vaushat.

(3) Yes, flower petals and fruits or fruit slices can be offered. But make

sure that your fire is big enough to burn them. I am not sure the what they

signify.

(4) Yes, you can. You can give give different items as aahuti in each

swaahaa.

(5) Vishnu sahasra naamam (1000 names of Vishnu) is a very powerful prayer.

It was revealed to the world bu Dharmaraja and Bhishma just before Kali yuga

came, because it was to play an important role in Kali yuga. My guru asked

me to spread Vishnu sahasra naama homam. That will come soon. I will give

one for Shiva also.

Best regards,

Narasimha

Normally when we give ahutis for 108 times, do we use the vausat on the 108th ahuti or start vausat from the 100th ahuti? Kindly clarify.

Vishnu sahashranama homa and homa of lord Shiva would be wonderful. I would be very keen on doing homas for lord shiva after some time. I had this strong desire as in a temple one day for doing the same but then I have no clue how to do it.

I do not know whether the posts on this group are moderated, but I would request that posts with this kind of rude and derisive tone not be allowed. Allowing such threads to continue endlessly will, I'm afraid, deter sincere people from posting their genuine thoughts and questions on sadhana and homam out of fear of being derided publicly on the list or out of shyness since few want to engage in such combative dialogue. There is nothing productive or remotely spiritual in such discussions when one takes such an arrogant, combative, and scornful tone in post after post. Too many purportedly about Hinduism / Dharma are full of vitriol, and I have always found this group to be unique in its collegiality, generosity, and focus on spiritual development. I would not like to see it get sidetracked by someone who has an axe to grind. I understand the value of allowing free speech, etc., but I think this has gone beyond the pale now. This is not a matter of a few stray posts, but of one person who has made a habit and pattern, day after day after day, of being rude and disrespectful towards the other members of this group.

There are many deluded souls like you who believe that

" Adi Shankaracharya " , " Sri Ramana Maharishi " , " Sri Yukteswar " and " Paramhansa Yogananda " didn't achieve Jnana in this Age of Kali Yuga.

What are you doing in a group on Vedic-wisdom, anyways ?
