Guest guest
|| Om Sri Gurubhyo Namah ||Namaskaar,I believe that Arya Samaj provides iron Homa Kunda. In fact, I got one such Kunda from them, and performed my very first Homa in this kunda. It was an iron kunda with some paint job done on it. Later I received a copper one, which I currently use. But I do not think that iron havan kunda should be a problem. so long as it is in the Havan pyramid shape. However, I will let Narasimha Ji give the final word. With the blessings of Sri Vishnu,Reema. , "aparajita_vidya" <aparajita_vidya wrote:>> Namaste> > I was trying to get a hom kunda and ended up buying one made of iron. > It is ok to do homa in iron hom kunda?> > -Best wishes> Aparajita>
Guest guest
Namaste, It is a bad idea to use an iron homa kundam. If there is any chance to avoid iron and use a better metal such as copper, that should be done. Iron homa kundam may be used only in circumstances where there is no choice and the only alternative is to not do a homam at all. Those who live in India and have a big yard can actually dig a homa kundam (2 ft length x 2 ft width x 1ft deep or 1 ft x 1 ft x 0.5 ft deep) and do in it also. Iron represented by Saturn is not an auspicious metal. Guest guest
Namaste Aparajita ji & Reema ji, My 2 cents is that we should stick to Copper, Silver or Golf. However, Gold & Silver are very expensive and hence Copper is good for all practical purposes. Homa is signified by Agni Tattva which in astrology is signified by Sun/Mars. Copper is signified by Sun and I guess copper-ore by Mars, and hence is very apt for Homa. Iron on the other hand is signified by Saturn and is not friendly with Sun/Mars. So I would never use Iron. It is said that bracelets made of iron/steel (Saturn) prevent people from being possessed by certain low-class of spirits, but it also dulls the mind considerably! I too have seen Iron Homa Kundam, and invariable it is very big and sold/leased by people who arrange marriagess or where you want to do a reasonable big homa and when you want to avoid creating your own kundam with bricks etc. My suggestion ... Copper is the best! Narasimha may add more. Thanks -Narayan- , " Reema Patel Sriganesh " <reema_sriganesh wrote: > > || Om Sri Gurubhyo Namah || > > Namaskaar, > > I believe that Arya Samaj provides iron Homa Kunda. Guest guest
Namaste, As I said earlier to you, do not worry about mistakes committed due to lack of knowledge. Once you get knowledge, try to put it to use and correct previous mistakes if that is possible. A detached yogi engages in a lot of actions, but does not waste even a second feeling good/proud/happy about a good thing from the past or feeling bad/ashamed/sad about a bad thing from the past. Doing homam in an iron homa kunda is better than not doing homa at all. In general, please remember that iron is not good for homa kunda, kalasha (vessel/pot) used to invoke deities in a regular pooja or idol used in regular pooja. As you are a saadhaka of Bhairava, please realize that Kaala Bhairava is extremely tolerant of protocol violations/mistakes and highly intolerant of attitude mistakes. Have a strong sense of detachment and devotion. Apart from Kashi, one may consider doing Kaala Bhairava sadhana at Ujjain to get the blessings of Kaala Bhairava faster. Guest guest
Narasimhaji Thank you once again! Your mails are an inspiration. I remember when I first started praying to Bhairav Baba and also started attempting Homa last year, I used to pray to him to guide me in homa, to teach me how to do it better. And then I came across your homa manuals, this community and your mails. Its like Bhairav Baba granted my request. Thank you a LOT Narasimhaji for your effort, your time and the good work that you are doing. -Regards Rajarshi "This above all: to thine own self be true!" - Hamlet--- On Thu, 20/11/08, Narasimha P..V.R.
