There are some questions on Krishna :

1- Why vaishnavaites say that Krishna is incarnation of Vishnu ? Krishna in

geeta nowhere told he is vishnu incarnated... he intoduced himself as param

brahmm before whom vishnu is too small .

2- Kansa knew the 8th child of devaki will kill him... and he decided to kill

the eigth child only. But Narad convinced him to kill all the children of

devaki ....?

Why a devrishi would want all children should be killed.

3- Why did Shri Krishna give his flute to Radha before leaving for mathura, with

a promise he will never play flute in future ?

Wise sadhaka may like to come up with their views..??

Krishna was a man who lived in the Now- there was no past or future for him.

When he was playing the flute, he played with full awareness.

When it became time for him to move on- he gave his flute away- Krishna wasnt

the one to sit & regret how he used to enjoy the simple village life. When it

was time to become a warrior, he became one with full awareness.

When the time passed away, Krishna never for a moment looked back. He gave his

flute away, & never went back to Vrindavan. The people there missed him, &

wondered why he never came back. But Krishna was trying to show we should have

no attachment to the past. When he was living in the village, the people had a

chance to enjoy his company, but never gave him complete respect, because they

never truly realised who he was(not withstanding all the stories where Krishna

went around dancing with Gopis in the jungle, which are nothing more than

allegories, as Krishna was just a 7 year boy).

This is a message for us- we should enjoy whatever time we have, since when it

passes, it never comes back.

luv,

Hari Om!

Similarly, Ram is believed to have worshipped Lord Siva at Rameshwaram and

according to the local tradition at Patteeshwaram near Tanjore, for expiating

the sin of killing a Brahmin and a Veerpurush i.e Ravan.

Why then he is identified with Vishnu?

Namaste all.

Here is another one of my favorite bhajans on Sri Krishna and I've heard this 25

years ago on an audio cassette melodiously sung by devotees from Sri Ramakrishna

ashram in India.

I'd like to add my translation of this song since 'Saint Naagaridas' declares in

this pada his sweet Braja Rasika sentiments.

Most Krishna devotees worship Lord Krishna of (Kurukshetra War) Bhagavad gita,

Dwarika and Mathura but Braja Rasik Saints are a little different in their

approach and relish only 'Braja Rasa Madhuri'.

So many times in Bhakti satsang discourses, this 'pada' is quoted by the

speakers to stress the subtle difference of devotional mellows and sadhana to

experience the exclusive bliss of Vrindavan Krishna!

hamAro muralI vAro zyAm,

binu murali vanamAla candrikA, nahi pahacAnat nAm //

Our Beloved is the Dark Lord, Syamasudar, the Divine Flutist!

We are not capable of recognizing the Divine Beloved simply by His name if He is

devoid of His flute, His garland of forest flowers and His peacock feather!

goparUpa vRndAvan cArau, vraja jana pUran kAm,

yAhi som hita cita baDhau nita, din din pala chin jAm //

Assuming the form of Cowherd boy, Our Beloved is wandering

in the sacred forest of Vrindavan fulfilling all the wishes of

the blessed residents of Braj!

With a cheerful heart He continuously performs

blissful eternal pastimes every second of the day

to delight His loving folks.

nandIsur govardhana gokul, barasAnom vizrAm,

'nAgari dAs " dwArikA mathurA, iksom kaiso kAm //

My Beloved Krishna frolicking Nanda's village, Gokul, as well as Govardhan hill,

comes and rests well at Barsana (Radharani's abode).

In the concluding verse 'Saint Nagari das' uses his signature (mudra) saying

that we are not interested in the pastimes of Lord Krishna at Dwarika and

Mathura since we have no use for them in our sadhana, in our loving Divine

contemplation!

" Naagari' is an epithet for Srimati Radhika. The Gopi-saint Naagari das is

naturally in Radhaji's squad.

Jaya Sri Radhe!
