Jitinder ji, Maya is controlled by Mahamaya and Mahamaya is controlled by

Yogmaya.... and yogmaya is Ichhha shakti of shiva... so it is finally shiva is

controlling the universe through his ichha shakti

Aumji,

In fact maya is leela of shiva, isnt it? Maya is manifestation of shiva. here

shiva is a source and shakti is the expression of it.

Shiva status is always centred within universe means shiva is within everything

in the world ,stable and is focused, whilce maya(shakti) is always in action and

has covered shiva by her.

Within maya , shiva is there. Definately shiva is controlling by his

ichchashakti means its by shakti of wish again.

When shiva emits his shakti, that becomes sequencially yogamaya, mahamaya and

maya. These are all various rupas of maya.

Maya binds us because even though we are shiva within, lost our true centre of

shiva and have developed a false centre within maya, where everthing has

dynamics.and getting pulled and played by various maya rupas and her leelas. One

has to surrender all the developed maya bonds to her, so that she relieves or

one has to try to locate the centre within, both ways seem different but are

same.

She wont bind them who found themself ,the true shiva within,

Isnt it a close circuit, that shiva with false centre gets bind with maya ,

while the truth is shiva binding her when not sleeping.

Thanks AUM Sir Ji and Udai Sir Ji for beautifull answers

Does it means that Maya feels that She is free.

or

She feels that She is binded by Lord Shiva.

I think both Maya & Mahamaya think they are free, & answerable only to Yogamaya.

But only YogaMaya knows the secret of the universe, & Lord Shivas plan in it.

Just to make clear- Maya is that which binds normal mortals like us, in the 5

elements & 3 gunas. Mahamaya binds those who have gone beyond these(like by

raising Kundalni to above Agya Chakra(3rd eye), but not yet at final stage).

Mahamaya binds even the Gods, & the many advanced Yogis. Thats why many

philosophies can claim there is no God etc- they have gone beyond Maya, but not

Mahamaya.

Both Maya & Mahamaya work according to instructions of YogaMaya. They think they

are free, that there is nothing else beyond these 3 Mayas. But Yogamaya knows

the real secret of the universe, as she is direct power of Paramshiva.

Thats the reason why there are so many disagreements between different

religons/philosophies- like some say there is no need to do anything except ask

" Who am I? " , while other say you have to do Kundalni Yoga, others say Bhakti.

All these Yogis haveny gone to level of Yogamaya yet, as there would be no

doubts at that level.

love,

Shantnu

Namaste Shantanuji,

I do not think asking 'Who am I ?' (as taught by Ramana Maharshi ) can be called

a philosophy. It is basically a method, the method of enquiry.Sri Ramana says

that we must constantly enquire about ourselves and the world around us.This

method  helps the sadhak to move from the unreal to the real. For example, if I

am unhappy because someone has insulted me I can ask myself 'who has been

insulted?' This chain of enquiry will lead me to the truth. It is a direct

method and very effective.

Jitendraji,

I would like to further elaborate like this.

Shiva when manifested becomes shakti and when shakti de-manifested is shiva..

Hence there is no principle difference in shiva and shakti. They are two status

of one certain principle.

Now shiva in dynamics = shakti

and Shakti  without dynamics = shiva.

Its like a satisfied atom does nothing but is complete one while as unsatisfied

atom makes lot of things happen in world. Thats how we have found atomic energy.

Maya has to feel or not to feel is different because she is not a single

personality. she exists everywhere with hands in hands with shiva. They are

inseparable.

Without shiva spiritual entry is not possible while without shakti even our

life, birth and death  is not possible If shiva has to feel something like freed

or unfreed, it is certain that shakti also has tobe.

But both are above feelings hence who has to feel is that , the one who has been

limited in one certain personality like us, animals, trees etc.those who have

specific form and specific attachment.

isnt it?

rwitojaji,

I Think " who am I " should be a mute search of self rather than an enquiry or

asking a question to self.. Many people know the answer that they are pure soul

, and hence the search ends.

Its usefull for them, who negate the answer already available by knowing.

When someone searches inside looking for the real power behind every activity

including thinking , he might get lead towards the power behind the scenes.

Udayji,

A conscious enquiry into life's circumstances, relationships and our feelings

and emotions in relation to them, helps us to gain intellectual and emotional

maturity, a sort of ripening of the mind. This,in turn, facilitates spiritual

progress. We know on a theoretical level that we are pure atman(all scriptures

say so) but the blindfold of maya keeps us from realizing it and we identify

with the body and the false ego.By using the tool of constant enquiry, we can

chip away at this blindfold. Once,I was distressed about the prospect of losing

an object,I owned.I asked myself 'Who is the owner?'As I sought answers,I found

that ownership of an object changes as soon as a person dies. The lifeless body

does not own anything. That means the life within,or the atma was the real

owner. But the atma when it departs does not take anything with it.This made me

realize that ownership is an illusion. This enquiry helps me to cultivate

detachment in my day to day life and not take my ownership of anything, whether

it is an object or relationship, too seriously.I have found that during

meditation, the question 'Who am I'stops the flow of thoughts and plunges the

mind downwards, as though into a dark well.

My intention is not to preach or teach anything to the learned members of this

group. Please forgive me if I have appeared to do so.I simply want to share my

experience of practising Shri Ramana's method of enquiry, which I have found to

be extremely effective.
