Guest guest
Is it being non violent in actions, like Gandhi? Then what about Krishna Arjun ? Is it being peaceful inwardly, like Buddha? If Ahimsa is only outward non violence, then what about people who use violence in words/emotions, like bullies? Are they following Ahimsa, since they never hit anyone? But what about soldiers, whose Dharma it is to kill? Can they ever follow Ahimsa? luv, shantnu
Guest guest
OMNAMONARAYANAYA Ahimsa paramo dharmah means Ahimsa is the best religion. Soldiers do not wage war or kill. They only defend. Lord Sri Krishna asked Arjun to defend Dharma only. When even five villages were refused for Pandavas the kingdom needed defense.None, much less Krishna believed that Duryodhan would concede five villages. In case of Sri Ram it was Ahimsa till the last. Even on sea shore Ram offered peace to Ravan. In modern days the teaching in military academies is that in an ideal war there should be NIL human casualties. Modern war is to be won by destroying enemiy`s resources not enemies themselves. Geneva convention ordains rubber bullets, metal bullets hitting below the knee to disable enemy soldiers not to kill them. Police use tear gas, water jet before firing. That was adapted long back by Sri Ram. Lord Rama hit Ravan in stomach (removing food resource) not on head (by better strategy). Ahimsa itself is THE FAITH ~SWAMY http://gjnanaswarup.spaces.live.com/blog/ --- On Tue, 3/17/09, shanracer <no_reply > wrote: shanracer <no_reply > What is Ahimsa? Can they ever follow Ahimsa? ------------------------- HARE RAM, HARE KRISHAN Thanks Sir Ji for beautifull question If we Kill someone while being with the God than this act is treated as Ahinsa eg Arjuna killed so many in the Battle of Mahbhartha while being with the God Lord Sri Krishan. If we kill someone while being with the impure self, than it is called Hinsa...may not be complete Hinsak, degree of violance depends upon the degree of impurity of self.......... FURTHER Question is - Being violant is not the part of spiritualism. HARE RAM, HARE RAM, RAM RAM,HARE HARE, HARE KRISHAN, HARE KRISHAN , KRISHAN KRISHAN, HARE HARE
