Venerable Aumji,Shantnuji ,Jituji  and all other well informed sadhaks whose

names are well known to our group,

I performed Parayan IE Ritualistic recitation of  SUNDARAKANDAM  of Valmiki`s

Ramayana. I experienced miracles giving long term benefits.

But somehow my family members feel that Paraayan of Sundarakandam is " also

associated with dangerous side effects " causing adversities. I am being

dissuaded from parayan.

Kindly let me know if there are any such adverse results.

Please give me all rituals etc I have to follow  while reciting Sundarakandamu.

I want to start early. Kindly respond in detail.

yours obediently

Dear swamyji,

My personal experience is that when we start any sadhan with full

surrender to god and with love for the divine and without any personal

siddhis etc... Lord himself takes care of the side effects.

In such case if there is a problem, that too is brought to purge the

Antakarna, not to trouble us.

I agree Swamiji. The bad effects, if any, are clearing of bad Karma.

As such, its better they cleared this way, rather than being forced to

live through hard times. As since it is God who clears the Karma, most

of the negative effect is reduced, & the punishment is a lot less than

we should have gotten based on our Karma.

This is called the Veer(Brave) Sadhaks path- rather than sitting

passively hoping you will get Moskha someday because you goto the

temple now & then, you are actively seeking God, accepting that on

this path, you may need to suffer a lot, & but also with the

confidence that God will never allow you to sink. The alternative to

this is to live the " normal " life where one lives in hypnotism,

thinking one is happy, till one day the cruel hand of fate destroys

all our dreams.

The brave Sadhak doesnt wait for his karma to attack him- rather he

actively seeks out his evil Karma & challenges it. As in any war, some

injury is definite. That is why a very strong faith in God is needed,

as the brave Sadhak must know( & not just think), that if his path

becomes too tough, God will personally have to descend to protect him.

But God doesnt come for time passers, & unless one is willing to

gamble everything for God, one must not expect same from God.

That is why, even if your Sadhna causes you some discomfort, pain,

loss, it is better to continue it. In my own path, I found a lot of

difficulties, some so strong I almost gave up. But each time I found a

Higher Force protecting me, & some of the best sprititual experiences

I had have been in the toughest times.

So presevere, & no need to listen to time passers- they will have to

deal with their own Karma later.

love

Shantnu

No way J.Swami.Ji!! Rather I assure that if you leave your parayan

deliberately out of some fear or something like that you might notice

troubles brewing soon around you. They are obviously waiting for you

hence they first came as the suggestion that you leave your parayan. It

would really be a very wrong thing to do. You must be remembering in

Sundarkand Lord Hanumaan say- " a trouble is that when one is not able

to do Ram bhajan " Take your clue from there. As it is you must have

developed love for your parayan routine so why one should be so cruel

to ones own heart just because of some fears and discouragements from

people? as it is fear is not a good emotion to be encouraged.Stick to

your niyam. It will pay

Respect Shri Shantanu ji,

Thanks for such an illuminating post...

Would like to add something...

GOD knows and helps according to the pace at which a Soul wants to complete it's

journey towards Him. For example, if you yourself want to take a passenger train

between a Source and Destination, GOD would never come and tell you, " Hey, why

are you traveling at a slow pace by boarding a passenger train. " Always

remember, TRUE LOVE PROVIDES UNCONDITIONAL FREEDOM AND NOT BONDAGE. All the

relationships among human beings are about bondage, hence they cannot be/aren't

true. True Love comes only from GOD and no one else (no matter how much a

mother/child, father/child, brother/sister, girlfriend/boyfriend, husband/wife

may tell each other that they love each other truely). But since we enjoy

bondage, we remain, seemingly infinitely, in the cycles of birth and death by

our binding associations with other Souls. Once we bind ourselves, we get

entangled into Karma cycles. The point to be thought about/worked out is that,

why do we enjoy bondage.

With Regards,

Prabhat

Profuse thanks and Pranams Prabhatji  Humans move in a karmic circle of limited

radius. Thus I am attached to family, property and wealth . Human love for

" material possessions for limited duration of a life time " is real bondage. We

all " love " material possessions oblivious of the ETERNAL CIRCLE  of unlimited

radius. Doubts like mine are a proof that crossing this circle  is extremely

difficult and  can cause fear.

Unconditional love of God is modified by our Karma to make us

Thanks Aumji,Shantnuji  Jituji and Faraji

yours obediently
