Guest guest
Namaste, Most Yogas teach us how to control our body, breath, mind etc. They teach us how to contort our body into most difficult poses, stop our breath for long periods of time, make the mind calm & powerful, such that anything it desires comes true. But does any Yoga teach us how to live life? How to deal with constant negativty, ups & downs, spiralling of uncontrollable forces? Most Yogas ( & not just Indian/Hindu) teach you to run from life, to reject it, in favor of some mental ideal, which is impossible to co-exist with material life. Or they goto the other extreme, & accept only the material, worshipping it, their Gods being money & the rational mind, this combination being best seen in recent corporate scandals. Is there any Yoga that teaches us to live life, to accept its ups & downs? Im not talking about simple philanthropy- the " Help the starving Africans/Asians " so fashionable in the West- for it is just another form of ego satisfaction. Im talking about accepting the normal life- the doctor, the engineer, the hair stylist, the accountant, & using that as a means to find the hidden spirit within. The simplest clerk has as much right to find the Spirit as the highest Yogi living in the Himalayas. For the Power, the Force, the Shakti, is hidden in the manifest Universe, playing hide & seek with us, daring us to find her hidden in the darkest recesses of humanity, within obvious contradictions of life, within the dualities of good & evil, dark & light that so vexes philosophers. This force often challenges us to find Her, giving us slight nudges here & there when we get too lost in our own created Univese of thoughts. We take these nudges as attacks, which they are for the ego, which has to live in constant fear. The ego has to live in fear, for it is like a grain of sand if front of an ocean as large as the Universe- trying to pretend there is no Universe. The ego knows the moment it stops fighting & looks around, the whole weight of the Universe will crush it. Reality, Existence, is constantly trying to wake the ego, by trying to prodding us here & there, but like the baby, we think by closing our eyes we can keep the world out. The Yoga of Life is for everyone- it does not require any previous mental ideas, no need to follow scriptures or prophets, no need to leave anything- meat, alcohol, sex. This is no elite Yoga for the select few- this Yoga is everyone who dares to open his/her eyes & look beyond the ovbious, to see the Spirit hidden within the daily small nuisances of Life. The Yoga of Life will have no pre-requistes, it will have no final destination or goals. It can have no pre-requistes, as we are fit for this Yoga by the very factor of being born in the physical plane. It can have no end, as having a goal means having a start. The Universe, like Existence, like God, is Infinite, so how can there be any start or end to it? No, the Yoga of Life will be forever, infinite, just as life is. The Yoga of Life will have no final scriptures or teacher/prophet, as how in this constantly changing, flowing Universe, can anything be final? Teachings that make sense today will seem barbaric & outdated tommorow. This is the main complaint of atheists, that the teachings are outdated. Yet is this the fault of the teaching, or the Teacher, who is unable to update the teaching to a different climate? The Yoga of Life will have no " super " techniques of self realisation. For so called powerful techniques divide life into simple techniques for simple folk, & powerful techniques for us advanced Yogis. The Yoga of Life cautions against dividing life, even in spiriutal matters. Some techniques maybe more suitable for some people, but that does not make then Universally good. The Yoga of Life will teach us to just be, to accept life, its contradictions, & see the hidden Force, the Motherly Shakti, hidden within it. It will be a surrender to this Higer force, this Huge Ocean that is constantly flowing & moving. It will be a fearful task, not easy, as the ego will not accept that it is but a wave in an Ocean, & that our life in not in our hands, but in a force much greater than ourselves. Over time, this fear will turn to relief & Love, for the ego will realise it can never go wrong or fail, as something Higher & more Purer than itself is guiding its destiny. The wave just has to Be, without worrying about the Ocean or other waves. Once it can do that, then it can be said to be living the Yoga of Life. The Yoga of Life will have no pre-requistes, > Dear shantanu, now this is something very important, logical and new concept. How would the sadhna for this yoga be ? or there would be no sadhna as such.... in such case how will one realise the truth ? Aum

I felt very inspired, & the force of Ma Shakti was flowing through me, & I just wrote what came to my head without thinking. As such, I have no logical answers. Any questions can be addressed directly to Ma Bhagwati. love Shantnu

Aumji, re-reading my own post, I get the idea the only Sadhna will be to live life to the fullest-being a good husband, father, son, employee, citizen, human being. It will involve not being scared of life, or rejecting any part of it. It will involve taking a larger interest in life & its many glories -music, dance, art, painting, astronomy/astrology, healing, with external & internal methods, martial arts, to name a few things. We wont let society or religon tell us what we should or shouldnt do. We will Master Life, instead of being scared of it. Only once we have mastered life, & ourselves, will we be able to see the Spirit hidden beneath it. love Shantnu
Guest guest
Brilliant Shantanu! It seems you're saying that there are as many 'yogic' paths as there are people. There is no set recipe for self- realization except surrender to the divine will. , shanracer <no_reply wrote: > > , aumji <no_reply@> wrote: > > > Dear shantanu, now this is something very important, logical and > >new concept. > > How would the sadhna for this yoga be ? or there would be no
