Guest guest
ANCIENT HINDU SHIVAMBU TANTRA: THE ATHARVA VEDA RE: THE SOMA OF THIS MEDICAL VEDA IS SHIVAMBU abridged and edited with commentaries by Swami Tantrasangha http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/av.htm http://www.salvationscience.com/v143.htm http://www.salvationscience.com/v144.htm The Rig Veda is the oldest of the four Vedas, dating from approximately 2,000 B.C. The Sama Veda and both the " Krishna " (black) and " Shukla " (white) rescensions of the Yajur Veda are ancient copies of the original Rig Veda. The Atharva Veda is considered to be " the Medical Veda " , and is dated later than the other three (four if you include both rescensions of the Yajur Veda). One can tell from its style and content that the Atharva Veda is of different origin from the other Vedas. The Vedas are the oldest of all Hindu scriptures, and are closely related to the Zand-Avesta of the Zoroastrian or Parsi religion. The Homa or Hoama of the Avesta is identical with the Vedic Soma. Rumor has it that the author of the Rig Veda was a student of Zarathustra - perhaps the oldest known guru in all Asia. Jai Om. - Sw. Tantrasangha ------------------- HYMNS OF THE ATHARVAVEDA from The Sacred Books of the East Series, edited by E. Max Mueller V,4:3. The asvattha-tree is the seat of the gods in the third heaven from here. There the gods procured the kushtha (Kusha Grass), the visible manifestation of (code-word for) amrita (ambrosia). 10. Pain in the head, affliction in the eye, and ailment(s) of the body, all that shall the kushtha heal - a divinely powerful (remedy), forsooth! XIX,39:3,5-9. Thy mother's name is Givala ( " quickening " ); thy father's name is Givanta ( " living " ). Verily no harm shall suffer this person here... 5. ...this kushtha, a universal remedy, stands together with (is the same as) Soma. 6. The asvattha-tree (of Life, i.e. the human body) is the seat of the gods in the third heaven from here. There came to sight the amrita (ambrosia), there the kushtha- plant was (Re)born. 7. A golden ship...moved upon the heavens. There came to sight the amrita, there the kushtha-plant was born. This kushttha, a universal remedy, stands together with Soma. 9. ...therefore art thou (Kushttha, Soma, the " fruit " of the Tree of Life) a universal remedy. II,3:1,3,6. The spring-water (Four Sacraments of Genetic Efflux) yonder which runs down upon the mountain, (with) that do I render healing for thee, in order that thou mayest contain a potent remedy. 3. Deep down do the Asuras (demons, but the Ahuras of the Zend-Avesta are angels) bury (reject) this healer (medicine) of wounds, which is the cure for discharges, and which hath removed disease. 6. May the waters afford us welfare... VI,44:2-3. Of the hundred remedies which thou hast, of the thousand which have been collected, this is the most excellent cure for discharges, (and) the best remover of disease. 3. THOU ART THE URINE OF RUDRA (Siva), the navel of amrita (ambrosia). (Thou art) a remover of diseases. I,3:7-8. I split open thy penis like the dike of a lake - thus let thy URINE be relaeased, out completely, with the sound " bal " (Baal?) 8. Relaxed is the opening of thy bladder, like the ocean, the reservoir of water - thus let thy URINE be released... VI,24:1-3. May the waters, indeed, grant me that cure for heart-ache! 2. The pain that hurts me in the eyes...(or) the heels...the waters, the most skilled of physicians, shall put all that to rights! 3. Ye rivers all, whose mistress is Sindhu, whose queen is Sindhu, grant us the remedy for that: Through this (remedy) may we derive benefit for you! III,7:5. The waters, verily, are healers, the waters are scatterers of disease. The waters cure all diseases. VI,57:2. With (urine) do ye wash (the tumour), with URINE do ye sprinkle it! The URINE IS A POTENT REMEDY: do thou (Rudra) with it show mercy to us, that we may live! V,5:1-7. ...Thou art the sister of the gods. 2. He that drinks thee lives: (That) person thou dost preserve, for thou art the supporter of all successive (generations), the refuge of men. 3. Every tree thou dost climb, like a wench, lusting for a man. " Victorious " , " firmly founded " , " saving " , verily, is thy name. 4. The wound that has been inflicted by the club, by the arrow, or by fire, of that thou art the cure: Do thou cure this person here! V,5:6. O gold-colored, lovely, sun-colored, most handsome (plant as symbol), mayest thou come to the fracture, O cure! " Cure " , verily, is thy name! 7. ...With (pubic) hairy stem, thou art the sister of the waters. VI,109:3. The Asuras (demons) did dig (bury) thee into the ground. The gods cast thee up again, as a cure for disease produced by wind (vayu in the body), moreover as a cure for wounds struck by arrows. IV,7:1. Amrita (ambrosia) has been pured into it (the river): With that do I ward off poison from thee. 3. Having made thee (the poison)...into a porridge, rich in fat, and cheering, from sheer hunger he has eaten thee, that hast an evil body. (Esau lost his inheritance which was to come from his Father, which inheritance was Heaven, by eating a bowl of lentil porridge. As the Holy Bible states: " If you break the fast, you must die the death " .) VI,100:2. ...With this (water), sent forth by the gods, do ye destroy this poison! VI,12:3. With honey (a favorite Tantric dietary supplement) do I mix the rivers. VII, 56:2. Honeyed is the remedy for injuries: moreover it crushes (destroys) insects (microbes?). VI,21:2. Thou art the most excellent of remedies, the best of plants (symbolically), as Soma (Moon, urine, the female, indicated by the " monthly " menstruation). IV,4:1,5. Thee, the plant, which the Gandharve dug up for Varuna (a river), when his virility had decayed, thee, that causeth strength, we dig up. 5. Thou art the First-Born sap of the waters...the brother of Soma... II,9:5. The god (good man) who has caused (disease) shall perform the cure. He is himself the best physician. (Like Jesus said: " Physician, heal thyself " .) VI,85:1,3. This Divine Tree (of Life), the Varana, shall shut out disease. (The Varana is a river which joins with the Asi at Varanasi - the sacred Pashupatinathabadpuri, not a bad place to be when the Tribulations come. See Jesus's parable of the " foolish virgins " who did not have " oil in their lamps " when the " Bridegroom " arrived.) 3. As Vrita did hold fast these ever-flowing waters, thus do I shut out disease from thee with Agni (Kundalini or Holy Spirit, which results from this Kriya or Purification). VI,91:3. The waters verily are healing. The waters chase away disease. The waters cure all diseases: May they prepare a remedy for thee! VIII,7:3. The waters and the heavenly plants are foremost: They have driven out from every limb thy disease, consequent from sin. (Jesus once cured a man and told him his sins were forgiven. They asked how could he forgive another man's sins. He answered: " Is his disease not cured? " At-One-ment for sins does not come wearing a sign around its neck. If you no longer must pay the debts, have they not been " forgiven " thee?) 12. ...They share in honey, (and) are the food of Immortality. May they yield ghee (clarified butter. As the Bible states: " Honey and butter will they eat, all who are left in the land " .) 21. (The god of rain) is favoring you...with this seed. 27. ...As if from the same mother, they suck sap, to exempt this man from injury. VI,96:3. What laws we have infringed upon, with the eye, the mind, and speech...may Soma, by his (divine) nature, clear these (sins) away from us. II,32:3. From thy heart, thy lungs, viscera, and sides: from thy kidneys, spleen, and liver, we do tear out the disease. VIII,1:17. ...The plants with Soma, their king, hath delivered thee from death. VIII,2:6. The plant (Soma)...do I invoke, that he may be exempt from injury. 14. ...May the heavenly waters, rich in milk, flow upon thee kindly! IV,9:3. Thou art, O salve, both a protection that crushes the sorcerers, and thou hast knowledge of immortality. Moreover, thou art food for the living, and thou art, too, a remedy against jaundice. 4. From him over whose every limb and every joint thou passest, O salve, thou dost, as a mighty interceptor, drive away disease. IV,10:4. (This Soma) is our life-prolonging amulet. 6. ...Thou art born from Soma. I,7:2. Partake of the ghee, of the sesame oil, O Agni. X,3:3. This...is a universal cure... 5. This divine tree (of Life, the waters of the human body) shall shut out death. The gods, too, have shut out the disease... 8. The sin that my mother, father, brother, and sister have commited, from that this Divine Tree will protect us. 17. ...The amulet of varana (Soma) holds fast for me reputation and prosperity, shall sprinkle me with brilliance and anoint me with splendour! 21. As splendour is in the Soma-draught, as splendour is in the honey-mixture, thus shall the amulet of varana hold fast... X,6:3. If the skillful workman has injured thee with his hand or with his knife, the LIVING bright WATERS shall purify thee from that. 5. Before it (the amulet), ghee, sura (liquor), (and) honey...we place. The amulet, having gone to the gods, shall, as a father for his sons, plan for us to grow well from day to day. 14. ...The waters ever run undiminished; that verily, yields them ambrosia more and more. 25. The amulet...has come to me with a stream of honey and ghee, together with sweet drink (fruit juices, molasses, etc.). 26. The amulet (the protection, coming from Shivambu, Vajroli, Tantra, or Androgynous Bioplasma)...has come to me together with nourishment and milk, together with goods and fortune. 27. The amulet...has come to me together with brilliance (intelligence) and strength, together with glory and reputation. II,7:1. The god-begotten plant, hated by the wicked, which wipes away the curses (of the enemies), like water a foul spot, has washed away all curses from me. III,6:3. As thou didst break forth, O asvattha (Tree of Life), into the great flood (i.e. the Biblical Noah's Ark), thus do thou break...all those who hate me. (Those who hate Hermetic Science all fall victim to their own folly.) VI,37:2. Avoid us, O curse, as a burning fire (avoids) a lake. II,36:3. This woman shall obtain a husband, since king Soma makes her lovely. 8. ...Do thou, O herb, bestow (a husband) upon her. (Refer to the Biblical story of Joseph's fast in prison, which (fast) made him more handsome. Or just watch TV commercials about losing excess weight. But the Tantric fast also rejuvenates. Not only being overweight, but also aging, makes us uglier. Thus, even the vain can be attracted to this godly " amulet " of protection for our physical appearance.) VI,78:1. Through this oblation, that causes prosperity, may this man flourish anew. VII,36:1. The eyes of us two (man and wife) shine like honey. Our foreheads gleam like ointment. Place me within thy heart: May one mind be in common to us both. III,23:4. By the effective seed, which bulls (males) put forth, do thou obtain a Son (Rebirth). Be a fruitful milk cow. I,34:1. This plant (Soma) is born of honey. With honey do we dig thee. Of honey thou art begotten. Do thou make us full of honey. 5. I have surrounded thee with a clinging sugar-cane, to remove aversion (to the Tantric fast?). (Sugar cane juice with lemon is still a favorite drink in India, and is perfect for a fast.) II,30:4. What is within shall be without, and what is without shall be within. (The Atman expands beyond the cranium into an ever- widening field of external objects. This is expressed by the mantra of Advaita (non-separation, non-duality) Vedanta: " Tat vam asi. " or " That art thou " . Also: " Om tat sat " , or " Om is the Way to Advaita " . The word, " Tantra " , literally means both " expansion " and " to weave " . Male and female are interwoven into an expansion of consciousness.) III,18:2. O thou (plant) with erect leaves, lovely do thou, urged on by the gods, full of might, drive away my life's rival, and make my husband mine alone. 6. ...May the mind run after me (the plant) as a calf after the cow, as water along its course. IV,8:5. The heavenly waters, rich in sap, flow joyously. III,3:3. From the waters king Varuna shall call thee (an exiled king). Soma shall call thee from the mountains. III,5:1. It is the strength of the gods, the sap of the waters. May it assiduously enliven me with energy! 3. Their very own amulet (protection), which the gods deposited secretly in the tree (of Life), that the gods shall give us to wear, together with Life. 4. The parna has come hither as the mighty strength of Soma... 5. The amulet of parna-wood has ascended upon me unto complete exemption from injury. IV,22:4. For him shall ye, O Heaven and Earth, milk ample good, as two milk cows yielding warm milk. VI,97:2. Hail be, ye wise Mitra and Varuna. (Mitra means " mixed " , i.e. Misra in Sanskrit, still a common surname. Mitra is also found in the Avesta of Zoroastrianism. Mithraism is considered the most popular religion, during the period of religious freedom in Rome, preceding the advent of catholic prejudicial intolerance, which forbade any other religion but Roman Catholicism, by decree of Emperor Constantine, in order to consolidate mind-control throughout the empire. Legend has it that Mithra was an Androgynous being, born from a stone, with a sword in his hand.) With honey swell ye our kingdom (of Heaven) here, (so that it shall) abound in offspring (continual Regeneration). Drive away misfortune, and strip us from sin, even after it has been committed. II,27:6. O Rudra (the older name for Siva), WHOSE REMEDY IS THE URINE...overcome thou the debate of those who debate against us. Render them devoid of force, O plant (URINE, SOMA). (Those who reject Urine Tantra will lose energy, health, and eventually, their lives. In order for Truth to win a debate, the opposition must be both honest and able to reason. If not, the faithful encounter the present situation - trapped in " Sodom " .) III,12:1. Right here do I erect a firm house (healthy body): May it stand on a good foundation, dripping with ghee. 2. Full of sap, ghee and milk, elevate thyself unto greater happiness. 5. O mistress of the dwelling, as a sheltering and kindly goddess thou wast erected by the gods in the beginning. 7. ...(Bring) hither the vessel of liquor (Soma), together with bowls of sour milk. 8. Carry forth, O woman, this full jar, a stream of ghee mixed with ambrosia (Advaitamrita, urine, seed). Supply these drinkers with ambrosia (urine, semen milk, and menstruum). 9. These waters, free from disease, destructive to disease, do I carry forth. VI,142:2. ...Be inexhaustible as the sea. 3. ...They who eat thee ( " god grain " ) shall be inexhaustible. (See the granaries of Joseph in the burial chamber texts from the Step Pyramid of Djoser, if this, the most ancient and important of Egyptian texts, is ever " declassified " . I have long surmised that Djoser is Joseph, the first king of the Hyksos or " Shepherd Kings " in Egypt, who were later defeated by indigenous Egyptians and went into slavery, until their liberation by Moses - a story which was transformed into symbolical significance for Hermetic Science. The very name, " Moses " , means birth of " the Child of the Nile " , which is (Re)birth - the " First- Born of the Chosen People " . See the Biblical story of the jealous brothers who imprisoned Joseph in a " dry well " . Moses opposed the seven false shepherds who tried to prevent the seven virgin daughters of Jethro from drawing water at the well in Midian or the " middle " of the body.) III,13:1. ...Ye streams. 3. When reluctantly ye flowed, Indra, forsooth, did with might choose you as his own, ye goddesses. 4. Up- breathed (flowed) they who are known as " the great " . Therefore " Up- breather " are they called. (This uses the in-flow and out-flow of water as if it were in and out breathing. This symbology was adapted by the Nath or Kanphata yogis in their yoga shastra, i.e. Prana and Apana, and alternate-nostril breathing, thus describing the recycling process, and its interchange between Soma and Surya or Moon and Sun.) 5. The waters are kindly. The waters, in truth, were ghee. These waters, truly, do support Agni and Soma. (Soma represents the four Sacraments of Genetic Efflux, and Agni the " fire " of Kundalini or Holy Spirit. Like John the Baptist said: " I Baptize you with water, but one comes after me who will Baptize you with fire and Holy Spirit " . This describes being " Born Again of water and Spirit. " ) May the readily-flowing strong sap of the honey-dripping (waters) come to me, together with Life's Breath and lustre. 6. Here, ye waters of ambrosia, is your heart...ye righteous ones. VI,106:1. Where thou comest, (O fire)...the blooming durva-plant (Tree of Life, the Four Sacraments of Genetic Efflux) shall grow: A well-spring there shall rise up, or a lotus-laden pool. (Refer to " well " in your Biblical Concordance. The Lotus, a water-lily, was a popular symbol in both Egypt and India, for being " Born-Again of water and Holy Spirit " , i.e. Padmasambhava or Born-of-a-Lotus, and Om Mani Padma Hum or Om is the Jewel in the Lotus.) 2. Here (shall be) the gathering place of the waters, here the dwelling place of the sea. In the midst of a pond our house (body) shall be... IV,3:1. ...Out of sight, forsooth, go the rivers; out of sight (grows) the Divine Tree (of Life): Out of sight the enemies shall retreat. III,15:2. ...Gladden me with milk and ghee... X,4:19. I have gone off into the river's midst, and washed out the serpent's poison. 24. Thou art, (O plant), a maiden... 26. He has fused the poison with poison (the Theory of Innoculation). Agni has put away the poison of the serpent. Soma has led it out. XI,2:24. Thy Spirit, O Lord of cattle, is within the waters (Bioplasma and Genetic Efflux). To strengthen thee, the Heavenly Waters flow. XI,6:7. Soma the god, whom they call Kandramas (Chandra, Moon), shall deliver me. 23. The Amrita, bought for the price of a chariot, which Malati knows as a remedy, that Indra stored away in the waters: That, O ye waters, furnish ye as a remedy. VI,115:2. If awake, or if asleep, to sin inclined, I have committed a sin, may what has been, and what shall be, as if from (being tied to) a wooden post, release me. 3. As one released...as one in a sweat by bathing (is cleansed) of filth, as ghee is clarified by the sieve, may all (the gods) clear me from sin. (By Water Baptism, and the resultant Blood At-One-ment, our sins are forgiven.) VI,120:3. In that bright world where our pious friends live in joy, having cast aside the ailments of their own bodies, free from lameness, not deformed in limb, there may we behold our parents and our children. (Salvation is not just for yourself, but also for your loved ones. When you deny this opportunity, you also condemn your loved ones to unnecessary suffering.) VII,64:1. May the waters protect me from all misfortune and evil. V,19:15. The rain of Mitra (the Androgynous deity, whose name means " Mixed " ) and Varuna does not moisten the oppressor of Brahmins (literally priests, figuratively the Righteous). XI,1:25. Clarified by Soma, settle in the belly of Brahmanas: The descendents of the rishis who eat thee shall not suffer harm. 28. This ripe fruit is my wish-granting cow. I prepare for myself a road that leads to the Fathers in Heaven. 30. ...Him that...cooks and presses the Soma: Lift him up to the Heavenly Road, upon which, after he has reached the fullest age, he shall ascend to the highest firmament, the Supreme Heavens. 31. Make skilfully a place for the melted butter; with ghee do thou anoint all the limbs (of the body). I prepare for myself a road that leads to the fathers in the Heavens. 32. The descendents of the Rishis, that eat thee, being full of substance, spreading forth (as an expansion of consciousness), shall not be (physically) harmed. (The extreme health from Regeneration causes the expansion of consciousness beyond its cranial confines. This is the Truth about the Christian Doctrine of being " Born Again of the water of bioplasma and of Holy Spirit " .) XII,3:2. ...As a pair ye shall rise. 3. Come ye together in this world, upon the road to the gods. By purifications purified call ye together the offspring that has sprung from you. 4. Aroung the WATER UNITED, sit ye down, O children: around this Living (Father) and the waters that refresh the living. Partake of these waters and of that which the mother of you two cooks, and which is called Ambrosia. 6. In that...two heavenly worlds, conquered by the pious, which especially abounds in Light, and is rich in honey, in that do ye come together with your (inner) children (Regeneration). 9. Soma is ruler and consoler. To this hold, attach yourselves to the pious: Then as a pair ye shall rise from the (divine, sacramental food). 13. O waters, purify that mortar and pestle. 14. May this sturdy press-stone, with broad bottom(!), purified by the purifiers, beat away the Rakshas. Settle upon the skin, afford firm protection. May man and wife not come to grief in their children. 21. ...Push these (soma) shoots upon this red skin: the press-stone shall purify them as the washer-man his clothes. 23. Gently, as a mother embraces the Son: I Unite thee... 25. Purified by the purifiers, the (waters) flow pure from the clouds. They reach to the spaces of Heaven... They are alive, refresh the Living, and are firmly rooted: May Agni (the Kundalini or Holy Spirit " Fire " ) heat them, after they have been poured into the vessel. 26. From Heaven they come, into the earth (body) they penetrate... May they, now pure, yet purify themselves further; may they conduct us to the Heavenly World. 29. ...UNITE, YE WATERS, ...as a woman beholds her husband... 30. ...LET THEM MINGLE THEIR INMOST PARTS WITH THE WATERS. 31. ...They, whose kingdom Soma rules...shall not harbour anger against us. 32. ...The gods, together with the goddesses, shall enter... 33. Longing for this (food) the gods shall be seen about the vessel. 35. ...Bring thou this man to Heaven, into the presence of Agni. 36. Thou hast conquered and reached all worlds: As many as are our wishes, thou hast satisfied them. 37. ...As the lowing cow loves her calf which craves the breast, ye gods shall greet with sounds of satisfaction this (Divine " porridge " ). 39. Whatever the wife cooks aside from thee, (O husband), or the husband cooks unbeknown to thee, O wife, mix that together: To both of you it shall belong; Bring it together into a single place. 48. The " cooked porridge " shall come back again to him that cooks it. (Like the Holy Bible states: " Cast your bread upon the waters, and, after many days, it will return to you. " ) IX,3:23. These waters, free from disease, destructive of disease, do I bring here...in company with the Immortal Agni. XII:30. Purified, the waters shall flow for our bodies. 38. ...Indra shall drink the Soma. XIII,1:7. ...The gods obtained immortality. 8. ...He shall anoint thy royalty with milk and ghee. 34. Offspring ascend thou, and Immortality ascend thou: Unite thy body with Rohita. 40. A god, thou praisest the gods. Thou movest within the flood. (Compare with the story of Noah's Ark.) They kindle him a universal fire: Him the highest sages know. 42. ...The oceans flow forth from her. 45. Surya (Sun) the waters: Surya is the single (third) eye of being (i.e. the Eye of Horus). He has ascended the great Heavens. XI,5:3. When the teacher receives the Brahmacharin as a disciple, he places him as a Foetus inside (of his body). ...When he is (Re)born, the gods gather about to see him. From him (Rebirth) sprang all the gods with immortality and amrita (the water of life). 7. ...Begetting the waters (a Regeneration in the bioplasma and DNA). ...and Virag (Liberation), having become an Embryo in the womb (Born again of water and Holy Spirit). 24. The Brahmacharin (the Divine Celibate, since, as the Bible states: " There is no sin, since my seed remaineth in me. " ) carries the shining Brahma (God, as seed): Into this all the gods are woven. (In Sanskrit, the word, " Tantra " has two literal meanings: " Woven " and " Expansion " : The bioplasma of man and woman are " woven " together to produce Regeneration and an " Expansion " of Consciousness.) 25. Producing in-breathing (as Prana) and out- breathing (as Apana or outflow), as well as through-breathing (cross- breathing, alternate-nostril breathing, Vajroli, Rasa Tantra - the exchanging of the Five Sacraments from Soma (moon, female) to Surya (sun, male), and back again, so as to Engender the Androgynous Bioplasma of Re-Conception of the Dwij, the Twice-Born Brahmin.) (Improved) speech, mind, heart,, Brahma (God), and wisdom do thou furnish us, with (improved) sight, hearing, semen, blood, and belly. 26. These things the Brahmacharin (yogi) fashioned on the back of the (Heavenly) water. He stood in the sea, kindled with tapas. He, when he is bathed (Baptized), shines brightly... (Here is perhaps the earliest use of " breath " for Amrita and " breathing " for its exchange between the sexes.) XI,4:3. When Prana calls aloud to the plants with his thunder, they are watered, they Conceive... 12. Prana, verily, is sun (male) and moon (female). (Herein is perhaps the first use of the word, " Prana " , literally meaning breath, to symbolize the Water of Life or the Five Sacraments. This term was adopted into the writings of the Nath or Kanphata yogis, the two best known being Svatmarama and his guru, Goraknath, often called Goraksanath. Refer to The Hatha Yoga Pradipika and The Goraksha Satakam.) 13. ...in-breathing and out- breathing... (This describes the inflow and outflow of Prana. " Restraining the Breath " is how Goraknath describes the Hermetic Seal of body secretions.) 14. Man breathes out and breathes in (the Amniotic Fluid, which is mostly Shivambu) when within the womb. When thou, O Prana, Quikenest him, then is he BORN AGAIN ( " of water and Spirit " , as Jesus called it. In our Darwinian approach to describe our " evolution " from " Primordial Food " , we have emphasized that the urine-laden Amniotic Fluid is our first food, drink, medicine, and even breath! Darwin used the young embryo to prove the common origin of many species. For instance, the human embryo has gill slits like a fish. Newly fertilized zygotes of various species even look alike. A little known fact is that Darwin postulated that, since the zygote is neither male nor female, we must be evolved from Primordial Androgynous Beings. See " The Mystery of the Sexes " from Health Research publishers.) 15. They call (symbolize) Prana (as) the wind (i.e. breath, air). The past and the future, the all, verily is supported upon Prana. 16. The holy (atharvan) plants, and those produced by men, Spring Forth, when thou, O Prana, Quikenest them. (Since ancient Egypt, the Resurrection or Rebirth has been compared to the Sprouting of a green plant.) 17. When Prana has watered the great Earth with rain (Advaitamrita), then the plants Spring Forth (Sprout and flourish). 18. Whoever, O Prana, knows this regarding thee...to him shall all offer tribute in yonder highest world. 20. He moves (genetically) as an (newly Conceived) Embryo within the gods. He is BORN AGAIN. (Being Born Again is the goal of all Gnostic Christians. We Hindus call this the Birth of the Dwij - the Twice- Born Brahmin, the At-One-ment with God, and the Atonement for sins.) Having Arisen, he enters with his mights (siddhis) the present and the future, as a father goes to his Son. (As Jesus said: " I and the father are one " , meaning that one has engendered a Rebirth within one's self - a " Son of man " .) 26. As the Embryo of the Waters ( " Born Again of water " ), thee, O Prana, do bind to me, that I may live (and not die). IX,2:5. That milch-cow...is said to be thy daughter; by her drive away my enemies: Breath, cattle, and life shall keep them away. 10. Devoid of vigour, without sap, let them (enemies) all be. XIX,54:5. Having conquered this world and the highest world, and the holy (pure) worlds (and) their holy divisions: Having, by means of the Brahma, conquered all the worlds, time, the highest God, forsooth, hastens onward. IX,1:4. Mother of the Adityas...breath of life...of immortality...great Embryo. 5. The gods begot...an Embryo... 6. ...soma-holding cup...the wise priest: He shall derive inspiration from it. 7. ...the...breasts of it that yields a thousand streams. Nourishment they pour out. 9. When the waters, the mighty bulls, self-sovereign, wait upon (the cow), swollen with milk, they, the waters, pour nourishment (upon her), and cause her to pour nourishment at will for him that knoweth this. 10. From the fire and wind...sprung the strong Child of the Maruts (the storm gods). 14. May I Beget (the Lord God Within)...bringing milk (etc.)... http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/av.htm http://www.salvationscience.com/v143.htm http://www.salvationscience.com/v144.htm ************************************************************
