puna- again

prana:- the vital force

puna:- again

kutam or akutam -- ???? (how ?)

agat or Agat- with an extended A ??? (arrived ? or reached ?)

If it is from some suktas, please mention the name of the sukta. I did

not find this line at all in Rig , Mandala 1, Sukta 1.

Ramakrishna Matt Madras has released a book, 'Veda Mantras' in which

all famous suktas like, Purusha, Sri, Medhavi, Narayana, Vishnu,

Surya,Agni, etc (some 27 suktas) plus Mantra pushpam and some shanti

mantras.

Mostly your popular chants will be found there.

Hi,

do u want the translation of just the line quoted by you, coz. or the entire

mantra starting with " agnirme vachis shritah "

Just knowing the meaning of the passage quoted by you " punah prana punah

akutamma agat would mean " Again let my prana remain established in my indriyas

(sensory organs) " .  These indriyas have been  mentioned in the earlier passage

of the mantras.

This wouldnt make much sense without the context of the earlier mantra portion.

regards

narayan

Dear sadhakas

Does anyone know the translation of the following line? Ive had it

going round & round in my head, even in my sleep. Its from the chant

Agnir Me & is obviously something about prana. I think it might

mean " let the prana stay within me " but does anyone know anything else?

The line is -

Punah pranah punarakutamagat

With love
