Guest guest
Namaste! Once a Guru told his student " Our destinies are controlled by forces beyond our control, & our thoughts or actions have no effect on them. So we should do everything as best we can, as honestly we can, as impeccably as we can. " The student didnt understand, so the Guru gave an example. Say you are walking along a hill, when you stop to tie your shoelace. Suddenly, in front of you a big rock falls, & you realise if you hadnt stopped, you would have died. Another time, you are walking along same path, when you stop to tie your shoelace, when a rock falls on you & kills you. It is not in your hand to decide whether you live or die- this is decided by forces beyond our control. Our only freedom is to tie our shoelace as honestly & impeccably as we can, trusting that our hidden Shakti will decide what is the best course for us. A simple act of tying our shoelace, without uneccessary thinking, intellectualising, day dreaming, worrying, planning, can lead us to enlightenment. A Yogi who can live his whole life like this is a true Yogi - he can be assured his Shakti will take him beyond death into immortality. with love Shantnu
