Guest guest
Thanks all friends who replied to my earlier questions. I have another unsolved question. All agree, and this is being discussed here too, that an advanced soul who has reached certain higher states of meditation sheds off anger greed etc. He is neither moved by hate nor is happy with appreciation. Then how come God needs our appreciation ? See all our Aartis, our prayers etc all are full of appreciation for god. If God is happy with appreciation, then he is below sadhakas and is like common man. If God is not happy with appreciations then why we waste our time in prayers, bhajans and mantras ? Catch 22 situation ? Jaya
Guest guest
Pranams _/\_, There can be many ways to answer this question which requires much elaboration, yet I am only elucidating two of them :-) 1. God truly doesn't need ANYTHING. It is our own weakness that we cannot achieve a 'single-pointed contemplation' on this Higher source of Energy called GOD, which resides Within Us. All that matters for us in this world is nothing but our OWN SELF. So, by projecting a form and attributing those characteristics to that Form which subconsciously we ourselves want to be, we try to reach a " Single-pointed focus " in order to realize our OWN TRUE SELF. Also, it is said... " Devam Bhutva Devam Yachayet " ...BE A GOD TO ASK FROM A GOD. 2. Our Mind (maan) is attached to two things, OUR BODY (taan) and OUR WEALTH (dhaan). In order to deviate the path of this ever restless mind from its object/s of attachments towards " God " , the best resort is to relocate these objects - Taan & Dhaan. Thats why, we have system of GIVING (daan & seva). In aarti we say, " tan-man-dhan sab tujhko arpan " . The poor fellow, GOD :-), has got nothing to do with taan & dhaan. However, if we offer Taan & Dhaan to The God/Guru...the stupid Maan will follow its objects of attachments, which is the primary bait for the Maan to be given proximity with GOD. Thus, there is much insistence on Daan (Dhaan) and Seva (Taan). These are answers only for the MIND :-) But when the HEART is full of devotion and love and blissfulness and nectar of divine grace...praises for the LORD simply oozes out of our the molten heart with our whole being getting drowned in that 'state of devotion'....thats when ALL questions get answered :-) And yet if some doubt (question) is left behind, one can close eyes, chant out loud....clap hard....and let oneself loose in the joyfulness of divine closeness....and follow the Best Philosophy that has been given to us by the Westerners......its says, WHO CARES !!! :-D Regards, Anupam , jaya_sundram <no_reply wrote: > Thanks all friends who replied to my earlier questions. Guest guest
HARE KRISHAN ,HARE RAM All agree, and this is being discussed here too, that an advanced soul > who has reached certain higher states of meditation sheds off anger > greed etc. He is neither moved by hate nor is happy with appreciation. > > Then how come God needs our appreciation ? See all our Aartis, our > prayers etc all are full of appreciation for god. If God is happy > with appreciation, then he is below sadhakas and is like common man. God i> > If s not happy with appreciations then why we waste our time > in prayers, bhajans and mantras ? > Thanks for another beautifull question the enlightened is neither moved by hate nor is happy with appretiation . first let me clear the word appritiation and its usage eg boss and subordinate 1. If you appreciate boss because of His fear otherwise he would................ than it your appreciation is known as gulami / slaves 2.if boss needs appreciation and we appreciate him than it is known as business . 3.if boss appreciates you even though you are not capable for something than it is known as motivation 4.if boss is not capable of appretiation but still we do his false appreciation than it is known as chaploosigiri in Hindi 5. if boss never said to you to appreciate , and also you do not want to appreciate but still you do his appreciation than this appreciation is done by your heart . sometimes you cry for his appreciation .because heart do not need anybody's permission it start doing whatever is the truth . 6. an appreciation which i can not explain in words but it is felt only now if it is said about the enlightened person that He is not happy by appreciation . it is true because it is 1 or 2 or 3or 4 or at extreme 5 kind of appreciation which could give happiness only . if you appreciate like 1. than boss is like hitlar who thinks that He would win the world by power if aprreciated like 2,3,4 than happiness if someone appreciated as 5 than it is because of wordly love ie love of a person with other one it would also give happiness with neglegible peace but the appreciation of no. 6 is beyond all above it gives peace which is for away from suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkhhhhhhhhhh. now perhaps it is clear why Lord said to appreciate , so that you can experience BLISS. and it is your choice He never demanded it he is for above than 1,2,3,4 ,5 kind of appreciation . please understand the following para in depth . bhagwan Sri Krishna ne prasansa karne ke liye isliye bhi kaha hai taaki aap bhi usi ki tareh prasansniya ho jao aur is sansar main manushya ek dusre ke saath prem bhav se ji sakein .aur log hitlar na ban jayeein jo logon ko dara kar khus rehta tha . Guest guest
, jaya_sundram <no_reply wrote: > If God is not happy with appreciations then why we waste our time > in prayers, bhajans and mantras ? Jayaji, anupam & jitendar have already given good answers. I can only add that Bhakti is only useful when it comes from the heart. It is useful, as it is the natural state of our Higher Being, our individual Soul, who feels immense love for God & his Universe, as well as a sweet sadness that he has separated from God. Thats why many Bhajans( & not just in Hinduism, but Sufism as well) are written as a lovers song to their beloved. Most Bhajans were written in this natural state of euphoria, & the goal is to encourage similar feelings in the people chanting. This is the feeling that Bhakti tries to encourage, & its the reason why many great Saints have said Bhakti is the highest path. But most people confuse an outer & intellectual Bhakti for this real thing. Bhakti has been divided into many " types " & categories, & Bhaktas spend time fighting other sects(like Shaiv-Vaishnav)/philosophies(like Adwait Vedant, Gyan Yoga etc). Its better to be an atheist than to be such a Bhakta. Bhakti is superior to other techniques only if it arises spontaneously from the heart. Otherwise, its just a mechanical act, & it nor more fools God than it fools our fellow human beings. with love Shantnu
Guest guest
Respected Members, Within the limits of my small knowledge, I would like to say something. We all like to appreciate our self (this body). Even who is not that good looking tries to find some good point in him/her. I think that the appreciation which is there in prayers is the appreciation of one own Real Self whose True Nature is Divine. The question raised is only applicable if you see GOD separate from you. Actually HE and your Real Self are ONE. So It's GOD praising ONESELF in reality. GOD doesn't need any prayers or sweet words or appreciations from you because HE doesn't expect anything back. I think that the appreciation which is there in prayers is the appreciation Thanks Suprabhat it is a very good outlook about appreciation. I think Jayaji might have got satisfying replies about her querry. Appreciating god is not for His satisfication, but remind ourselves about the attributes of God/Goddess love Aum
