Guest guest
Dear Jayaji, Normally, we are responsible to our own karmas. When it appears that it is the other's actions affecting us, often it is our own actions towards them returning back to us. For example, anger or some negativity in thoughts and/or deeds(consciously or unconsciously) towards the other, reaching them and triggering in them the same towards us. As do societies, castes, or any other group of people. During imperialism, Britain ruled the world & exploited people. Now ordinary British people gained from this, even if they didnt directly exploit poor people. So why shouldnt they share the Karma? Cities also have karma. Like Bombay(I read somewhere) has very terrible Karma- it has been cursed at least 3 times. Whoever goes to Bombay, will automatically become selfish, greedy, money minded(I apologise to any Mumbai-ians here, but lots of other cities like Delhi, London, New York also have this bad karma- it is bad from spiritual point of view, not necessarily material). As such, only those people who have Karma to work out will goto such places- if you are destined not to become materialistic, Ma Nature will keep you away from such places. If you do live in such places- just we aware. It means you have to be more careful, as the negative energies of the place will try to drag you down. One will have to be very strong to resist these lower forces, but it is possible if ones faith in God is very strong. One way is to meditate a lot, & avoid having a big social life. Places get Karma, as very good or very evil actions done there leave an imprint there, which continues to modify the minds of people living there. Just look at Jerusalem- Christ was murdered there 2000 years ago & the people are still reeling with violence. In Iran/Iraq, a great Sufi Saint Mansoor, who claimed " Ana Al Haq " - I am That(God), the same thing as Vedant, was brutally murdered, & they have been fighting too. Such collective Karma destroys whole empires- looked at what happened to the Roman empire after Jesus death, or to the Mughals after Aurangzeb had Guru Teg Bahadur killed. It is complex, as the energies of the world, as well as hidden energies of the astral world, are always manipulating us. Its impossible for us to fight them all, the only way is to surrender to the inner God/Guru, & request his help. with love Shantnu
Guest guest
Dear Shantnuji, Great piece on group karmas and karmas in places/cities. I was emphasising only the individual part of it. I agree that groups of individual vibrations in a particular place influenced by situations prevailing there would be circulating there affecting people in it. Perhaps that is the reason why sadhakas are advised to prefer places of positive/spiritual vibrations produced by spiritual practitioners of long standing. You have said it wonderfully. Thanks and regards, M.S.Thimmappa. , shanracer <no_reply wrote: > Jayaji, not only individuals, but cities, countries, continents,
Guest guest
Dear Sadhaks , Group karma is easy to understand perceive and conceive if we cmpare a meditating satsang and street gangs indulging in vandalism. Both are in groups, both are volunteers and both should be aware of the consequences. Please meditate pray and chant in unision. May God bless all of us. ijswamy ~SWAMY http://gjnanaswarup.spaces.live.com/blog/ Dear Shantnuji, Great piece on group karmas and karmas in places/cities. When one understands the matrix of energies, one can see clearly the concept of Group karma working. If an angry mob is beating an innocent passerby (for political or other reasons) people gather around just to see tamasha...others stand there and say to themselves - oh this is cruel. The death of lynched man will lie not only on those who beat him but also on those who enjoyed the beating or to see as silent spectator...even those will have a tint of bad karma who said that was cruel. The best way to avoid such group kamra is that if you are capable of stopping the tyranny stop it.... and if you are not capable just leave the place - praying god to help the man. Nature not only punishes for bad karma... she also punishes for not doing karma where one is required to do. For Arjuna it was dharma to fight and running away would have caused bad karma for him.... whereas for vidura the dharma was not to participate in the war.
