If you look back to history you will find even the so called Rishis were prone to anger so in Kaliyuga your experiencing anger is understandable. As a yoga therapist i would suggest following yogic and homoeo remedies. First strictly avoid chillies from your diet which means pickles are strictly No, No! Learning shavasana or Makarasana will calm down frayed nerves. If you have no access to learn this asana then perform GYAN MUDRA. This mudra is to be done with both the hands simultaneously. It is performed, simply by joining the tips of the forefinger with that of the thumb and keeping other 3 fingers straight with palms facing upward. Keep both the hands on your respective thighs. If you feel bored you can pray/meditate/chant continous Aum/watch tv in this mudra. Maximum time in a day for this mudra is 45 minutes. Aum chanting should not be more than 11 times please. Amongst the food consuming one apple before breakfast will help a lot. Amongst the homeopathic medicine take IGNATIA-30 - 4 pills every 3 hours. Both apple and Ignatia-30 should be consumed continuously for 2 months. If anger is completely reduced discontinue the homeo but continue with apple. Report on this forum after 2 months about the progress. With warm wishes, Sudhakar HARI OM TAT SAT! Cheers! ) > I am very much impatient.I want to learn how to have patience ,control > on my feelings. My temper.I want peace around me .But there are so many > hustle-bustle going around,Can I have peace in such surrounding? If yes > Then how? Please tell,I can't concentrate on my priorities due to these > things.Help me out.I think this is the problem which many people are > facing.Really I want peace. >

For me Recitation of Aum (with a long humming) worked wonders. At the time of being angry inhaling white color going inside the body and exhaling red color coming out, controls anger immediately. At Yes Priyaji, daily chanting of Om does wonders. One should chant for at least 15-20 minutes daily. Mantra in general are great ways to calm the mind, since mantra work directly at our sub concious level. Too much anger is due to too much energy- you need a way to use up this energy. Regular excercise is needed, preferably daily. The best form of excercise is Yoga Asan. The way to go is to always excercise in a group, with others(which wont be difficult with Yoga, as most people do Yoga in a group). Excercising alone makes one lazy, & one doesnt push oneself as hard. But when with others, especially those better than us, makes us want to emulate them & hence work harder. With regular Yoga, this energy will be used up in opening bodys blockages, so will no longer trouble you. This energy blocakges make us angry in the 1st place, as mental tensions are stored in the body, & even if the mind wants to become calm, if the body is agitated, it wont let the mind become calm. This is why Hatha Yoga is so necessary for most people. Another way to calm the body is to eat food according to your Ayurvedic type. There are many ways to find this, including the website www.whatisyourdosha.com . Be warned, this website is geared for westereners. Look at the overall pattern of the results. I am willing to bet you are a Pitta Dosha. In which case, as Sudhakarji said, avoid spicy, fried food. Eat lot of natural sugars(which includes grains(like wheat), rice, honey etc). A specific Pranayam is Sheetali Pranayam. Its hard to describe, the best way is to goto Youtube, there are many videos there describing it. Or if you join a Yoga class, you can ask the teacher. As I said in last mail, the best way to get patience is to have trust in God, but this comes with time automatically. with love Shantnu
