Natural remedy for Hiccoughs:- (1) Take 4 small cardamom along with its skin(husk intact) (choti elaichi). Remember the outer husk should be greenish, if it is creamish yellow it means they have extracted its essence and will not serve the purpose. Now ground these 4 cardamom in a pestle and then put it in 500 gms. of water. Now boil this till the water becomes 200 gms. Now let him sip this hot water as comfortable as he can bear (without mixing/adding any cold water - let him blow air from his mouth to cool if he wants). This one dose itself should solve his problem forever. (2) If you cannot find choti elaichi then wash fresh ginger rhizome. Then remove/peel its skin and make small pieces of this peeled ginger and let him put 2/3 small pieces in the mouth and start sucking on its juice. This also has a magical effect. Till either of two remedies is being prepared let your friends father put his own index/forefinger into his respective ears i.e. right index finger in right ear and left index finger in left ear and do conscious breathing. This will stop the hiccoughs as well but will take a while. Do let him have either of the above 2 remedies. Conscious breathing means normal breathing which takes place automatically but now you must consciously breathe in and breathe out. Please remember according to ayurveda from the time we were born till we are 25 years we are usually prone to Kapha problems, from 26 years till 50 years we are prone to Pitha problems and 51 years onwards till we die Vatha problems like - joint pains, constipation, etc., etc., therefore doing VAYU MUDRA will also help which is simply done by placing the tip of the index finger on the base of the thumb and then bringing gentle pressure of the thumb upon this index finger. Keep other 3 fingers straight with palms facing upward. This should be done with both the hands and should be kept on their respective thighs. Chanting mentally any Hanuman shtotra/ hymns will go a long way in speeding up the relief from hiccoughs. Biochemical remedy also known as tissue remedy consists of placing 5 tablets of Mag.Phos.30X underneath the tongue and allow it to melt there will also help in controlling hiccoughs. Lastly there are still many other remedies like drinking water from wrong side of the glass which usually ends in making a mess of your clothes. Another is putting one teaspoonful of sugar in the mouth which will also stop the hiccoughs. I leave the choice to you and still any doubt please ask. With warm wishes, Sudhakar HARI OM TAT SAT! Further to my posting on hiccoughs i forgot to mention one thing as i was in a hurry to go to my yoga class and that is I don't mean to scare you but tell your friend's father - pradista of the shivalingas the sooner done the better and in future never to indulge in such things which you cannot complete. It amounts to keeping in " suspended animation " for the lingas so better he completes the formality in full. With warm wishes, Sudhakar HARI OM TAT SAT! Guest guest
Dear Sudhakarji, Thanks for your details, except Vayu Mudra we have tried all other medicines whic didnot help. Last week we spoke with a local yoga teacher, who has agreed to teach few yoga techniques to solve his problem.Anyway thanks for your guidance. Also we have asked him to complete the pradista of shivalinga as well which sure may be the reason ( here when some one hicoughs, we used to say some one is thinking of you, so may be Shiva is reminding him thro hicoughs. ).Thanks Luv.
