Guest guest
Thankyou very much Sudhakarji and shantanuji for such deep explanations In short What are these granthhis made of ? (pran/nadi/energy/ etc) Is Hathha Yoga the only way to open them? Can there be a person who does not do any yoga or sadhna, but still have any of these granthhis opened? Do I ask many questions ? By doing Bhakti yoga/Raj yoga and other forms of yoga like mantra yoga etc., you can get your granthis opened. Basically it has to do with awakening of the serpent power i.e. Kundalini Shakti dormant at the base of the spine. I hope you won't think there is a coiled serpent underneath each one of us. Technically the energy is coiled in the shape of a coiled snake. No your asking questions is the only way to really grasp any subject. No harm done. Granthis are a combination of nadis/prana/energy but if you dissect a human body you will not find it. It exists in subtle state. How will a dumb person after tasting jaggery express the sweetness of it. It is not possible for me, maybe shantanuji could throw more light. With warm wishes, Sudhakar HARI OM TAT SAT! It can be said they are not made of anything or any " matter " (physical or astral)- rather they are knots in our conciousness that stop us from attaining perfectness. > Is Hathha Yoga the only way to open them? > Can there be a person who does not do any yoga or sadhna, but > still have any of these granthhis opened? Hatha Yogis identify these granthis with certain pranic knots, which can be opened by physical/astral methods, but Im not entirely convinced of this. As I said in previous post, these knots relate to how we look at & relate to the world. As such, they cannot be removed by any technique, but only by changing our outlook on the world- by developing Vivek(discrimination) & vairagya(disinterest in objects of senses, not running away from world). All techniques- Hatha Yog, Raja Yog, Bhakti maybe aides in this process, but cannot be the final step. > Do I ask many questions ? No. It means you are understanding things, & implementing them in life. And not just intellectually satisfied. Keep the flame in your heart burning bright, it will take you places! with love Shantnu

Yes Sudhakar and shantanu have given quite vivid explanation. What are Granthhis made of ? - i dont think Prana or nadi make any granthis... they are not actually real knots as such. These are called granthis due to their work, as they stop the kundalini to rise above. I think Granthhis are blockades of energy in respective chakras and this blocage does not allow Kundalini to cross a particular chakra. The Granthhis are basically Ashta Pasha which keep Shiva entangled in Maya...hence it is is not easy to break those granthhis. NO Hathha yoga is certainly not the only way...rather i would say Hthha yoga can help cross Brahma Granthi with certain yogic postures. Brahmaa and vishnu granthis can be crossed by many ways, meditation, hathha yoga, Raja yoga, Laya yoga and many other But All yogas fail on Rudra Granthis (in the Agya chakra). Since this Granthi is fixed by Mahamaya, no yoga of any kind can overcome this. It is said, that only Grace of God or Grace of Mahamaya or Yogmaya can help us cross this granthhi. That is why grace of God is so important... but it gives rise to another question as to what is grace of God and how one gets it. When do we get Moksha ? by pe\iercing all 3 granthhis or by even one ? Ansuya
