Guest guest
Dear devotees and Saadhaks. " NA GAAYATRI PARAMAH MANTRA , NA MATHRU PARA DYVATHAM " " No Mantra is superior to Gayatri and no Goddess other than our mother exists " Gayatri is also called Savitri. Savitri =Daughter of Savithru (Sun) The Mantra has 24 letters- the significance of 24 is not clearly understood (by me), And I am curious to know. Sun is the only source of energy SHAKTI for humans, animals and plants. Suns energy can become Light,Heat ,Electricity,or any other Shakti we can think of. So reciting Gayatri pleases the SHAKTI. Humans who recite Gayatri get great strength to overcome any difficulty. and also get the COSMIC BLISS. The sound caused by Gallaxy rotating @ a speed of 20k miles/second must be COSMIC . It can not be heared by human ears but Sages said it sounds like OHM AUM OM I also want to know the correct phonetic sound of OM. Kindly enlighten me. yours devotedly ijswamy ~SWAMY http://gjnanaswarup.spaces.live.com/blog/
Guest guest
Dear Saadhakas I always thought the significant numbers were 27, 54 & 108.... but Im not sure why. Does anyone else know? (If not, I can ask my chanting teacher when I see him next week.) With love Farah
Guest guest
, " J.SWAMY IRAGAVARAPU " Dear J. Swamyji, Namaste! The pronounciation of laghu (brevity) mantra can be chanted in two ways. The first is reciting Auuuummmmm and second is you should split the mantra into three section AaaaaaOoooooMmmmmm. Both are correct but emphasis should be to inhale complete yogic breath which means you fill your abdominal part (though strictly speaking the air does not enter the stomach but you do stimulate the diaphragm) about one third, then fill mid chest 1/3rd and upper clavicular regional with one third air and instead of breathing out - recite the aum mantra in either of the two ways mentioned above. For starters recite the aum mantra for a count of 11 only and once you get a hang of it slowly increase the number. Some say one should recite aum mantra for 108 times while some say not to exceed more than 21 times as it generates lot of heat in the body therefore at the end of aum recitation one should say AUM SHANTI SHANTI SHANTHI..... three times. The gayathri mantra has 24 letters and therefore if one wishes to do PURASHCHARAN one should chant 24 lakhs time to represent one lakh for each syllable. My assumption is 3 represents BRAHMA, 6 represents VISHNU and 9 represents SHIVA. When mantra 24 is added it becomes 2+4=6 representing Vishnu the SUSTAINER. Therefore gayathri mantra sustains the person who chants it. Hope this clarifies your query. With warm wishes, Sudhakar HARI OM TAT SAT - Cheers! ) <jiragavarapu wrote: > > Dear devotees and Saadhaks.

Trust everything is fine with you. Did you get to read the book AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI? Too bad if you haven't. Yeah, the significant numbers are 27, 54 and 108. The reason being that the number of nakshatras (stars) recognised by astrologers are 27 and therefore minimum recitation of Gayathri mantra should be 27 and if you want to chant more then double it and it becomes 54 and if you want further more recitation one should double 54 which becomes 108 and all three numbers 27, 54 and 108 when added together individually becomes 9 which represents Lord Shiva. Hope this clarifies your doubt. There could be other reasons for 108 but i had learnt when my upanyam was performed that it represents nakshatras therefore minimum recitation should be 27. Further 108 when added together becomes 9 and numerologically it is considered holy specially 9 and multiples of 9. If anyone has further explanations i would love to know it. Coming to your query on no. 11 if my memory serves me right you had asked this question many many moons ago and i had answered it as follows: In India while gifting anyone the amount given is usually 11 or 21. It is considered auspicious - further giving 10 denoted end and stagnation while 11 certainly represents continuity and more to come. The number 11 when added together forms 2 in numerology and persons born in number 2 are ruled by Moon therefore all important transactions should be carried out by these people on 2,11,20 and 29. Besides if these dates fall on Monday it is still better. As moon rules over pearl these people should wear preferably BASRA PEARL embedded in silver and worn in middle or last finger on full moon day. Do you remember this? Guest guest
There is another point of view too. The whole universe as per Astrology, is divided into 12 houses occupied by 9 planets. These 12 houses and 9 planets represent the effect of the whole universe on individual life. Hence 12X9 = 108 is considered a number sacred and covering the whole life and whole universe. Having japas in the multiples of 108 means covering/affecting the whole universe or whole life. jai mata di
