Guest guest
A small white coloured owl is sitting in a tree near my home since two days..We have never seen owls in this area before..this my family house and this is where I was born and brought up..Today some crows tried to attack this owl, but luckily my mom saw and chased them away.. It is small, white and looks so calm.. Does this signify something??or is it just a normal incident??

Perhaps you may have to leave this house and face some problems.

Im not so sure owl is always bad- in some places, the owl is considered a wise bird, one of most intelligent. It is also ride of Ma Lakshmi. Does anyone else have any ideas? G. Marcot, D. H. Johnson, & M. Cocker 2000-06-15, last updated 2006-11-04 Description Medium sized owl, with relatively long legs, and heart shaped facial disk. Very variable in colouration depending on race, from pale birds with white under-parts and pale buff upper-parts; to some island races which have rufous buff under-parts and dark grey (gray) upper-parts. A variable grey (gray) veiling on the upper-parts seems to be characteristic of the species. Females tend to be generally darker and more heavily marked than males. Size 29-44cm, 187-400g Range Europe, Africa, Middle East, India & South East Asia, Australia, Americas from Canadian border to Tierra del Fuego as well as many oceanic islands. Habitat Prefers open lowlands, particularly areas including rough grassland, but also plantations, heath, marsh, coastal regions, savannah. Generally avoids forests apart from some island races. Up to 4000m. Food Mainly small mammals, particularly rodents, but also small birds, reptiles, frogs and sometimes insects. Some populations may specialise on a particular prey species e.g. palm rats in Malaysian palm plantations. Please do not believe in omens, god or bad. They are all hindrance to sadhaka. Owl too is God's creation to be preserved and honered for the service. Let it be. If it is injured (it might be) get some help, else leave it alone. I am ashamed to say that we Indian do not appreciate our wildlife, it is great source of eco-tourism. We need to respect all of God's creation. Do the least harm, that is ahimsa. Let us be true sadhana members.
