Guest guest
I have a question. Krishna asks Aruns to maintain Samata(equality) in everything- thoughts, actions, words. Yet here he is asking him to butcher his cousins? How do you maintain equality while doing that? To be equal, he should have taken no sides & retired from the war. Can someone please solve this contradiction? thanks S Kumar
Guest guest
When you are in the battle field, you forget who the person you are fighting with. He is just your enemy. That is the wonderful thing about the mind. Mind becomes the thought. And it follows its diktat. The soldier in the war-mode, fights for honour and survival. No place for sentiments in war. ulaganthan p , s_kumar_12345 <no_reply wrote: > > I have a question. Guest guest
> When you are in the battle field, you forget who the person you are ulaganthanji, thats not what Krishna says to Arjun. Krishna doesnt say " Close your eyes & kill everyone, they are the enemy " . He says have equality. But if Arjun had equality, he should have left war. Since the soul is not affected by wealth or poverty, why kill people for some land? Arjun should have taken Sanyaas, not fought the war. This is my doubt, the difference between Krishna was saying & what he expected Arjun to do. S Kumar

Krishna was saying to Arjun, have equality for all. Seen with this attitutde, Arjun was merely doing what was right, what was his Dharma. It wasnt his job to decide who to kill & who to forgive, as that is Mahakals(or Krishnas) job. Since the soul is not affected by wealth or poverty or death, Arjun should have had no problems in fighting. By killing the Kauravs, he was helping maintain Dharam in the land, which was his main job as a Kshtriya. Taking Sanyas would have been the cowards way- Arjun would be running from his Dharm. Equality doesnt mean ignoring the world- rather it means standing back from our personal thoughts, ideas, desires, feelings & ego, & doing what is required by the Divine Will.
