Corruption of Vedic symbols

Namaste,

In recent materialist times, Vedic symbols and knowledge have gotten

corrupted, & dumbed down to their lowest denominator.

Yoga has been reduced to physical jerks. Tantra has been reduced to

prostitution. Vedant has been reduced to intellectual debating.

Lets take Yoga 1st. Recently someone took offence when I said Yoga had

become a health fad. Some people are even more offended when they are

told Yoga is a part of Hinduism. Academics point to the fact that Yoga

Sutras dont mention Hinduism anywhere, so they have nothing to do with

Hinduism. By this definition, no book is " Hindu " since no Hindu book

mentions the word " Hindu " .

Yoga was introduced to the West by Vedantis like Vivekanada, Yoganand,

who introduced it as Yoga-Vedant. But the Vedant part has been

removed out now. Most westerners have a image of Hindus as backward,

superstitious, idol worshipping people, an image constantly reinforced

by the media.

The word Vedant has been stripped from Adwait Vedant too, there is a

new " Adwait " movement, that similarly distance themself from

Hinduism(read about it on

http://www.vedanet.com/index.php?option=com_content & task=category & sectionid=1 & id\

=12 & Itemid=2)

Tantra is the most corrupted form. George Fuerenstien says " Most of

what passes for Tantra would be better termed sex education in the

best case, & prostituition in the worst " . Academics go out of their way

to show the Vedas & Tantras are incompatible, a claim easily refuted.

Ayurveda, which like Yoga, aimed to heal the body/mind/spirit, has

been reduced to simple herbology. When Yogi Ramdev dared to say he

could heal any disease with Ayurveda, he was attacked by everybody

from doctors to politicians & called a quack & a sorcerer.

But if Westerners & Western materialism is the reason of decline of

vedic arts, the Knight in shining armor for Vedas are also westerners.

At the moment, the people most doing to present Vedic knowledge into

its pure form are westerners like David Frawley, George Furenstien,

Robert Svoboda, Stephen Knapp etc, while Indians happily read & teach

from books written by people who wanted to oppress & convert them.

Indians are so full of Tamogun you cant expect any action from them

-good or bad(like posting a message).

So take Ayurveda. In India its taught as a poor mans version of

Western Medicine. Compared to this, westerners like Frawley & Svoboda

teach Ayurveda with knowledge of Mantras, gems, aromatherapy(as

healing subtle body is easier than physical body). They also teach

Astrology, as many diseases may have karmic basis. They teach correct

diet and Asans, as most disesases are due to peoples poor lifestyle.

They teach Ayurveda in a Vedantic framework, not something separate

from it.

The people most to blame for decline of Vedic knowledge are Indians

themselves. Most Indians have heard Vedas are our main books, but fail

to explain why. They think(even people who have studied Gita,

Upanishads & hence are knowledgable) that the Vedas are backward books

of useless rituals.

What they dont know, these rituals are just 1 level to understand the

Vedic knwowledge. So Indra is the power of the Divine Mind, that

bursts clouds of ignorance & causes rain storm of Divine wisdom, & not

just the God of rain he has been reduced to. Agni is the spark of

Divine awareness, that when fed with Sadhna & Bhakti, goes into heaven

& brings all other Gods down, & not just chemical fire.

All the later Puranic & Tantric rituals were extensions of Vedic ones,

& not opposed to them. Like Sita is actually a Vedic Goddess, who was

worshipped long before Ramayan was written. Yet how many Hindus know this?

I will write something on the hidden symbology of the Vedas soon.

That posting can be termed as " WOW " and I am sorry i don't know

any other words to describe it. A few days back in reply to

Aum's posting i had said both Aum and Yours BRIHASPATI in the

horoscope must be well placed which ofcourse does not mean to

rob your credit for brilliant posting. I WAS RIGHT.

Eagerly waiting for the balance report.

With warm wishes,

Dear Aum,

Namaste!

Honestly i do not know anything about astrology. Whatever i have

written is something i have heard and not studied. Numerology yes,

a brief outline i know that is all.

By the way my lagna is Kanya too and my rashi is Mithuna. My

nakshatra is PUNARVASU and in my horoscope Ketu is in the twelth

house from Lagna. They say that is Moksha Stan. They also say

Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa had also similar placement. Maybe,

that is why i took to yoga and meditation as fish takes to water.

Who knows but this should be my last birth and then no more

incarnation - I sincerely hope so though some do say Ketu in

12 house does not necessarily mean Moksha or last birth.

To pigeonhole you and Shaan it is really difficult because i

don't know astrology, but to make a wild guess perhaps yours

GURU must be in the 6th house from lagna. Am i right by any

chance?

Sudhakarji, my Guru is in 2nd house, which isnt a spiritual position

at all.... but spirituality is decided by more than position of Guru.

In a way, all the planets are spiritual.

Venus represents Bhakti, Mars Yogic discipline, esp Tantric & Shaktic

Yoga, Moon represents devotion & surrender to the Divine. The sun

represents Gyan Yoga. As important as Jupiter is Saturn, which

represents the power to go beyond materialistic pleasures, & have

equality in all states, pain & pleasure. In fact, a good Saturn is as

important as good Jupiter.

ShanJI,

You seem to be a little VIVEKANANDA to me, Furious, point blanc,

hitting the bull's eye every time.

You spoke out the feelings and thought of many Hindus who are either

unable to or neglecting or afraid or lack of knowlege for speaking on

this subject.

I am blessed to be in the company of You, BabaJI and many other great

souls in here.

Shivaya Namah Aum.

wow...if all planets are spiritual then is there a way to know if the

person will be highly spiritual or not or will attain moksha Do you

know any such yoga..

I saw the kundali of Paramhansa, vivekananda, Ramna etc but could

not really find one single rule which confirms the spiritual

inclination . any advice from any one ??

Neither have I found any rule which can tell if a person will find

moksha or not. I read 1 or 2 books on spiritual astrology, but they

seem to repeat the same stuff, usually showing their own Guru getting

Moksha, & those who dont follow their Guru getting stuck in hell.

One book said that Vivekanand wouldnt get Moksha, even though he had

very good combinationss, because he didnt follow a certain Guru!

There are combinations for spirituality, but I have seen them in

complete atheists, while spiritual people have none.

Some astrolgers seem to show why Vivekanand/Ramakrishna got moksha,

but their explanations seem forced, & I dont think they can be used

for future prediction.

Take Jupiter in 12th house rule. The ascendant stays same for 2 hours,

which means at any one time, Jupiter will in 12th house for 2 hours.

Does it mean the 1000s of children born during that time will all get

moksha?

Rather the whole chart has to been seen. The planets represent certain

energies, & it is upto the person how he uses those energies. Venus

represents sensous pleasures in its lower form, but Divine Love in its

higher. Which of these 2 energies the Sadhak uses depends on his

spiritual development.

Mars represents fiery, angry energies in its lower form. But in its

higher form, it represents complete devotion to a cause. Martian

energies are those which dont let logics/emotions stop them from

reaching their goal-like a good soldier, they do their duty no matter

what happens. Hanumanji represents this type of energy, so Tuesday is

his day, as well as Mars day.

Jupiter represents wisdom, but in his lower form he represents

indulgence. Jupiter is shown as a slightly overweight man- due to fact

a poor Jupiter makes one indulge in everything- food, drink, materialism.

Now 12th house represents Moksha, but it also represents sexual

bliss(which is like moksha for most people). So Jupiter in 12th may

mean a highly advanced Sadhak, or it may mean someone who indulges in sex.

Vedic astrology is a highly intuitive science, & cant be dumbed down

to a few simple rules(the way western has been- Aries men shouldnt

date Taurus women etc).

Like I said- the planets just represent energies. How the Sadhak uses

those energies is upto him. Like everything else in life, it comes

down to a play of energies, Shakti, the Divine Mother.
