Living with like minded people means you can discuss your common thoughts, but since you agree on everything, you will never learn anything new. To develop a sense of empathy and understanding of the complex human condition. We need to understand our own limitations and blind spots, as well as appreciate our strengths. For instance may be ranked around 50th in material wealth but is #1 in spiritual wealth. We need like minded people to reaffirm our sense of identity and recharge our batteries. The wonderful part of being a human being is that the same person can be both like-minded and unlike-minded... depending on which issue we are discussing.
