The enemies of the Pandavs as descibred in the 1st chapter of the Gita

are:

1. Kripa – Avidya, or delusion. Kripa is the Guru of Kauravs, & one of

their main warriors. Avidya forces man to think he is different from

God. At the end of Mahabharat, Kripa survives, & makes peace with

the Pandavs. This shows Avidya can never completely vanish, as then

the manifested world would go back to the Spirit.

2. Bhishma- Ego. Bhisma is one of the most interesting characters of

Mahabharat. He was a Deva, & spiritually advanced enough to see

Krishna in his real form, yet he took side of Kauravs.

Bhishma advised Duryodhan against the war- as the Ego is the Grandsire

of both good & bad qualities/habits of man, & loves them equally.

Bhishma or the Ego takes the side of the lower mind when it becomes

powerful(Duryodhan), but soon tires of his evil ways, & feels sympathy

for his good qualities(Pandavs).

But Bhishma cant be defeated- which shows the Ego cant be defeated

without its cooperation. In the Mahabharat Bhishma tells the Pandavs

the secret how to kill him.

Even then Bhishma doesnt die, as he immortal. He says he will stay

alive till the sun reaches the North in heavens. Later on in the Gita

Krishna says the same thing- people who die when sun is in

North(winter) get Moksha, which has led to a lot of stupid attempts to

die during winter!

The hidden meaning is that Ego is rendered powerless by Samadhi, it

doesnt go completely till the Sun of Inner Conciousness reaches the

Highest point(North) in the body- or the Sahasra Chakra in the Head.

3. Dronacharya- Habit or inner tendency, or Sanskars. Sanskars are the

impressions made on the Chit, which continuously come up & force us to

do things by habit- Sanskars are collected over many lifetimes. Drona

was the Guru of both Pandavs & Kauravs, as we have both good & bad

Sanskars(good Sanskaars can be habit of meditating regularly). But

since our negative Sanskars are more numerous & powerful, they become

our enemy rather than friend.

Drona was the mortal enemy of Drupada, who represents extreme

dispassion. Our dispassion makes us ignore our Sanskars, as we lose

interst in results of Karma. Dron is finally killed by Drupadas son( &

Draupadis brother)- who cuts of Drons head- meaning all Sanskars are

destroyed by the energy born of dispassion.

4. Ashvathama- Latent desires- These are our hidden desires- for sex,

money, power etc. At the end of Mahabharta, Ashvathama survives, but

is rendered powerless & cursed to roam Earth forever. This shows our

desires never die, but are rendered helpless, & no longer affect the soul.

5. Karna -Raga or attachment

6. Vikarna- Repulsion or Dvesha

7. Jayadrath- or Body attachment, & fear of death

8. Bhruishrav or Karma with egoistic desire

Duryodhan & his brothers:

As I said, Duryodhan is the 1st son of Dhritrashtra or blind sense

mind, & represents all the bad qualities of it, like anger, ego greed

envy etc. His brother represents various other -ve qualties mentioned

in Vedas:

9. Kama or Lust or desire- Duryodhan is the himself his quality, as he

refused to share even a millimetre of land with Pandavs due to his

lust for power.

10. Krodha or Anger- Dushansan

11. Lobha or greed- Karna & Vikarna represent this

12. Moha or deluded attachment- Shakuni represents Moha. Our

attachment blinds us, & confuses us with Maya. In the Mahabharat,

Shakuni tricked the Pandavs by cheating in a dice game. The dice game

here is the game of the material world, with its temptations & lures.

By falling prey to these temptations, the Soul is " banished " from it

kingdom of the body, as the Pandavs were.

13. Mada or pride- Represented by Shalya, who was related to the

Pandavs, but joined the Kauravs when Duryodhan flattered his ego &

offered him money. Mada also means insanity, which is what our pride

makes us. He is killed by Nakul/Sahadev, who were his nephews, &

represent power of Yama/Niyama.

14. Matsarya or envy- Represented by Kritvarma, who was related to

Krishna, but went against because of envy.

As we can see, the enemies are numerous, which makes the task of

Sadhak very hard. But the Sadhak has Sri Krishna, the Divine Guru, the

Hidden Spirit. About him we need no introduction.

sir ji

i think i am becoming a negative person or villain of this site ,

but it is also necessary hence please accept me if possible .

How you have been placed Karna as attachment and Greed or lobha

because as per epic what i know He was a great daani or daan vir

daan is opposite of lobha ie it is said by Lord Sai Baba in his

teachings that if someone is greedy then He should do daan to get rid

of greedyness

secondaly if He was having the attachment then How He got the

enlightenment.

please clearify

please take my negative thoughts as my ignorance AND FORGIVE ME, but

there could be some truth TOO. BAHUT HIMMAT KARKE LIKHA HAI I

DELEATED THRICE . PLEASE FORGIVE ME

HARE KRISHNA ,HARE KRISHNA ,KRISHNA KRISHNA ,HARE HARE,HARE

Dear Jitinder... why do you think like this. By discussion and not

agreeing no one becomes a Villain or negative. you are presenting

your views others are presenting their views.

This is how we learn.

also Karna did not get enlightenment... he worked out his bad karma

and went to higher lokas only. There is no mention of karna getting

enlightenment.

So present your views freely without thinking that others will take

u as a villain

Jitendarji, if no one disagreed with each other or asked questions,

this club would be dead in 5 minutes. Also, whats the use of knowledge

that cant stand questioning? So ask questions, else this club will die.

Kunti, Karnas mother, represents the power to call for spiritual help.

Sun is the light of wisdom. So their son Karna must have been a very

high soul. But since Kunti hadnt united with Pandu or Buddhi, Karna

came under influence of lower mind(in this case Dhritrashtra & his

sons), & hence joined the wrong side.

The reason Karna represents attachment is- even though he knew he was

Kuntis son & Pandav his brothers, & knowing Duryodhan was wrong(during

the war, Karna tells Krishna he is ashamed he humilated Draupadi along

with Duryodhan), he still took side of Duryodhan, just out of spite &

to humilate Arjun. He said helping Duryodhan was his duty- which is

another sign of attachment- it justifies its behaviour using logics.

Kindness & giving to charity are not necessarily signs of great Souls-

after all, Asuras(demons) are known to be kind. Ravan, even though he

was very egoistical, was a very good king, who treated his subjects

very well. His city Lanka was made of gold- showing what a generousman

he was, that everyone in his Kingdom could afford to build houses of

gold. But this doesnt change fact he was also an Asur.

Hello Fellow Spiritual Travellers,

Namaste!

Here is my promise of giving away the ways to tackle environment

pollution. It goes by the name of AGNIHOTRA. It is the vedic

solution for present day problems.

It is a small ritual to be performed daily at the prescribed time

i.e. local sunset and sunrise. You start the first experiment at

sunset and then move towards sunrise. They say it represents

symbolically moving from Darkness to Light.

This agnihotra involves a little price as they say here in USA -

there is no such thing as free lunch.

You need a copper pot which resembles half pyramid but open at

the top. In India you can get it at any spiritual stores selling

religious items and copper vessels. Then you need pure cow's ghee

(clarified butter). This has to be cow's and not buffalo's please

note. You need one teaspoonful of whole rice grains (broken grains

not allowed), don't ask me i do not know the reason for this

insistence. Then you need dried cowdung cakes, dried twigs of

any one of Ficus Bengalnensis, VATA, Ficus Glomerate, AUDUMBARA,

Mellia Azadirackta, NEEM.

In the copper pot you place dried cowdung cake pieces (the pot is

small and therefore you cannot place the whole circular cowdung

cake therefore broken into pieces), then place a few twigs of

anyone of the auspicious tree, then at sharp sunset/sunrise you

light the fire on cowdung and it won't catch fire so don't pour

kerosene (this is biggest mistake you can make) instead use

camphor to light the fire. In any case the cowdung cake has to be

thoroughly dried so also the twigs of the holy tree. Now say the

following mantra and at the same time using the pinch format i.e.

of your right hand thumb and forefinger mix ghee and whole rice

grains and offer it as argya to the fire in the copper pot.

At sunset the evening prayers are:

Agnaye svaha, agnaye idam na mama

Prajapataye svaha, prajapataye idam na mama

(I offer to agni, this belongs to agni, this is not mine.

I offer to almighty father, this belongs to him, this is not mine)

At sunrise the morning prayers are:

Suryaya svaha, suryaya idam na mama

Prajapataye svaha, prajapataye idam na mama

(I offer to sun, this belongs to sun, this is not mine.

I offer to almighty father, this belongs to him, this is not mine)

IT WILL BE SEEN THAT AT THE MOST CRITICAL MOMENTS OF SUNSET AND

SUNRISE, OBLATIONS ARE OFFERED TO THE COSMIC ENERGY (prajapati)

TO THE LIFE FORCE (surya) AND THE EARTHLY REPRESENTATIVE OF BOTH

(agni). THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THE MANTRA VIBRATIONS AND RELEASE

OF SPECIFIC GASES OUT OF THE POT HAVE MULTI DIMENTIONAL IMPACT ON

HUMAN LIFE.

This experiment was successfully carried out in Germany to tackle

acid rain in the jungles (forests) of germany. Many individuals

throughout the world are doing this agnihotra.

Some cannot pronounce the mantra and so have innovated by writing

mantra in musical language and then humming it on the piano.

The english book of agnihotra by pune based scientist - M.S. alias

Baburao Parkhe is not available anywhere. Amazon books says since

it is 1982 publication it is not available. Only one old copy at

usdlrs.25/- is available. The original book cost i.rs.25/-

The benefits are so many in the book that it is impossible to

list them.

I am told in Mumbai they have special shops which cater to all

agnihotra products etc.,

Hope this suffice the much needed news on altering the pollution

on environment.

With warm wishes

Sudhakar

HARI OM TAT SAT! Cheers! :o)
