Guest guest
Kaali Mathha: Once Raktabeej demon started troubling the gods, and all gods worshipped Devi Bhagwati for their rescue. Mother appeared before devas as Mahakali and assured them to help them get their glory back. It is said that this the place where all devas worshipped Devi to come and rescue them from asuras. Kali appeared and as mentioned in Durga Saptshati, she destroyed Raktabeeja, and other asuras. But even after the war was over, Kali kept wandering with anger around destroying everything which came to her path. All devas were worried, but no one dare go before fierce Kali to request her to stop her dance of destruction. they all went to Mahadeva and prayed him that only He can stop Kali. So Shiva lied down on the path of Kali. When she approached shiva lying on her path of destruction...and put her feet on his chest...she immediately cooled down and was sorry to see her husband being touched by her feet shiva requested Kali to cool down but she said - O Mahadeva, i have generated so much anger and energy to destroy the asuras...i dont know what to do with this energy. Shri Mahadeva then advised her to put her energy into earth and use it for the welfare of mankind. Kali whirled and entered into the earth... making a deep whole in the mountains. In Kaali Mathh this hole is worshipped..as there is no idol of Kali. During Navaratras, the hole is uncovered and priests worship Kali on the mouth of hole. The hole is said to be miles below the earth. There is hardly a Tantrik or shakti Sadhaka in India who has not visited this shrine. The temple complex has three temples of Maha Laxmi, Maha Kali and Maha Saraswati. There is a small water pond also where bhaktas take bath before entering the temple. The temple is in a far distant place and is surrounded by dense forests and snow clad mountain peaks. It is on a height of 9000 feet above see level, and the temple is opened only twice during both the Navratras of the year. During Navratras Ashtami (8th day), a Tantrik Yagya is performed in which 125,000 Ahutis are offered. Nearby there is Kaal shila on which 64 Yantras are depicted for Devi and all her yoginis (sub-shaktis). It is said that One Japa of Devi here is equal to thousands of japa at other places. Many Shaktas may be seen here doing Durga- Saptashati japa, and other Tantrik Japas here. There is also a tri-yugi Havana, which is said to be started by Mother Sita and the fire is still burning. The temple committe has kept two gaurds there, whose duty is to keep the fire burning. So this fire has been burning for three Yugas Treta, Dwapar and Kali. It is also said, that those who are not yet ready for Mother's blessings, can not reach here. The Kali Mathha is about 150 miles from Haridwar near Kedar Peak of Himalaya. If you really wish to see the raw power of Mother..you must visit the temple once and feel her presence there. Jai Chamundey Maan

Why is it easier to relate to ones true self there and easier to connect to God?Why being at such places is a result of much bhakti and tapa and leads to fulfillment? Why such divine power is there in such places which is not everywhere? Why is association with such places not possible for everyone and seems a result of much bhagya /luck and grace? Why is it easier to relate to ones true self Dear Aradhana, the divine is every where...but we worship him only in our small temple. Electricity wires are spread in all the house, but we get it only through the socket. Some temples, due to the presence of deity there are called Siddha Peethha...and have a concentration of high vibrational energy. If we do sadhna there...those high positive vibrations help us in achieving the goal faster. similarly if a saint had an ashram and later died and was buried there.... his positive vibrations will still remain there and will purify those coming there Those temples, which are directly touched by God himself/herself ..have very high vibrations and always help bhaktas if they worship there. Like Jakhoo temple in shimla, where Hanumanji himself came down and touched the earth... like Kali Mathh or like Yogmaya temple in Delhi and many other such examples. So we should worship there and take benefit from those strong positive vibs Aum
