Chakras - keeping them clear.

Dear brothers & sisters

A few years ago I went to see a kineseologist, who detected a blockage

in my 2nd chakra swadhishtana. She helped m clear it & since then I do

various chakra clearing techniques, in my hope to keep them clear.

My question is, how do these blockages occur? Is this also what is

known as 'granthis?' or are these just a certain kind of blockage? Are

these blockages a bit like constipation, for example? Can they come &

go? Or if we do regular chakra balancing, can we assume our chakras

will be clear? What is the difference between a chakra being blocked &

a chakra being damaged - & how would I know the difference? How would I

be able to say 'this one is damaged' & 'this one is blocked?'

With love as always

Farahji, you have made the classic mistake, that almost every book Ive

read(bar a notable few) makes- that of assuming the Chakras are linked

to their physical counterparts.

Most people read about Chakras in new age books, the authors of which

never had a proper Guru, are sometimes hostile to concept of Guru. As

such, most of their info is suspect.

Even so called trained gurus make this unnecessary 1 to 1 relation

between a chakra & an organ " Agya Chakra is related to Pineal gland " -

no its not! Ive heard other statements like " his sex life is very

good, he must have a very open sex chakra " or " She wasnt loved as a

child, so her heart chakra is closed " .

The 1st thing is, the Chakras proper, as part of Kundalni Tantra, are

closed in everyone- & that means everyone. You have to open them with

Sadhna, but they are closed by default.

2ndly, the chakras new agers talk about are the transmitters of

Pran(or Chi, the life force) to the organs of the body. They are sort

of gross counterparts of Kundalni Yoga chakras. These Pran Chakras are

better called Marma in Ayurveda(Indian healing art).

So when they say your Swadhistan was blocked, they meant the Marma, or

Pranic energy center related to Swadhistan was closed. These Marma are

needed for good functioning of body. These are the centers people talk

about when they say " chakra is damaged or burst or blocked " .

The actual Chakras are only opened by intense Sadhna. They are centers

of conciousness, & lead to an expansion of awareness.

So when the sex chakra opens, your sex life doesnt get better- you

lose all interest in sex, & all other material things, as well as all

your petty desires & behaviour stops. These Chakras, when they open,

all give Siddhis as well. It might be things like being able to read

others mind, predict future, talk to Astral beings etc.

Not all Yogis want these Siddhis, so they dont waste time opening

Chakras one by one, rather they conserve energy till in 1 blast they

get full enlightenment.

The granthis you are talking about keep the Kundalni from rising, &

have to be broken along with Chakras being cleared. But this happens

automatically in most sadhnas.

this is excellent and in very simple words, i liked this one..

but when i medidate i do not concentrate on any of these chakras ,

because of the siddhis, as i do not wish to have these...

now my question to you is , even if i just do a formful meditation,

still does these chakra's open or will it remain closed.

Deitoji, if you are doing Bhakti, even then your Chakras will open.

But instead of step by step Chakra opening, there will be one big

blast, all Chakras will open, & you will get full darshan of God.

In most Yogas(gyan, bhakti, karma), this process happens

automatically, one doesnt have to make any effort to open Chakras.

Is there a way to know which chakra need attention or is closed ? You

say all chakras are closed by default, but those doing sadhna may have

some chakras opened or partially opened ?

How can we know which of our chakras is opened ?

yes this is true. What ever sadhna we are doing...it finally leads to

opening of chakras and movement of kundalini.

Normally those into Bhakti have their heart chakra activated and

expanded, and those into gyan have the same with Agya chakra.

Agya chakra when activates and purifies..it clear and purifies all

chakras below it.

Since the jivatama is said to be seated in heart chakra... bhaktas

see him as deity when the heart chakra is open and kundalini

illuminating it.

Yes Anusuyaji, Sadhna partially opens these chakras. So those doing

Bhakti may have heart chakra open(only those doing pure Bhakti, not

fanatics). Those doing Yoga, Tratak may have Agya open. Visualising

your Ishta Devta also open Agya & Visshudhi.

Sometimes, chakras maybe partially open due to previous life Sadhna.

> How can we know which of our chakras is opened ?

A real Guru, whose own chakras are open, can tell you this. But its

rare to find such a Guru.

Im told, by my Guru, that he feels buzzing in his chakras- either

painful if chakra is extremely blocked, or pleasing if it is open(and

nothing for normal people ).

Many people, including those who practice Energy healing like Reiki,

can see or feel the Pranic Chakras(or Marmas). But few can feel the

Spiritual chakras, as for that your own chakras must be fully open.

Namaste!

Your explanation on chakras really made good reading. Thanks for

clearing some of my own doubts in that. I have one question. I have

heard sometimes when you fall one or two chakras do get partially

opened and then you have access to some psychic powers like knowing

future etc., is this true? Can it get awakened in this manner as

well. Ofcourse i have heard the person who got these powers did not

have control over it and later on after passage of time the chakras

closed and so did the powers. Is this possible?

Kind regards

No, Chakras never get opened so randomly. Due to previous life Sadhna,

in this life Chakras may open suddenly, but unless then the Sadhak

controls his power, & continues meditating, they will close again.

Many Sadhaks reach heights of Sadhna, but its hard to maintain that

height- unless one is very pure, has self control & humility, he falls.

Many of these Gurus that pull ashes/items out of air, start like this.

Due to good Sadhna in this or last life they get Siddhis, but these go

to their head & they start trying to impress people. They quickly lose

the little power they had, & usually have to resort to cheap tricks to

impress people.

Are

Dear Farah, Granthhis are different from chakras... even if all the

chakras are open and activated... granthis are still needed to be

broken and straightened.

How chakras are blocked : over many births this has happened...not

only due to this birth. Each desire of us, which remains

unfulfilled we have a small negative, stale block of energy in

respective chakra...and which will be cleared when that desire is

fulfilled.

the soul inside us needs a complete set of experience, unlike our

mind which only wishes to have pleasures for itself and body. If we

murdered someone...we have a stale energy block in our chakra ...and

will be removed by its complementary energy..i.e. when we will be

murdered and the soul gets both the experiences. So in a way

chakras are the recorders of all our karma, good and bad...as well

as our desires.

Suppose, you ever wished to slap a person for his folly, but

could not due to some reasons...that desire will sit in a chakra as

stale energy...and will be removed only when u have actually slapped

a person.. may be even after a 1000 years.

Chakras are not really chakras...they are the vortex of

energies...controlling our mind and our prana. Kundalini currents

talks to us through chakras...divine talks to us through chakras.

When we say chakra is activated...it does not mean that chakra is

pure... it means it has lost its Tamoguna and have started

responding to energies...there may still be blocks...which needs to

be cleared

Shantnu's one point is certain that chakras do not affect the body.

I would say Chakras affect the Mind, which in turn affect the

body..but not exactly in the bookish way.

For example, Muladhara chakra has Earth element and it binds our

mind & ego to the body. Now too much negativity in this chakra will

make the mind insecure...and that person would doubt all doing

conspiracies against him.

This needs a lot of sharing and discussion.. so bisect it and pls

come with further questions

> slap that person no matter what. Please explain.

My dear Sudhakar, there are many ways to clear those energies. The

top one is awakening of Kundalini which will destroy all such

garbage filled in our chakras.

The second is opposite feelings of negativity. You get a chance to

slap a person (even if another one)..u have excuse, strength and

will to slap...and suddenly you forgive and smile... it will negate

the negative energies sitting in the chakra, with this positive one.

this is just an example.

That z why our rishis, without going into deep philosophy of

chakras...told the people.. do good with people,.. have love and

compassion. this was to negate the wrong energies....staling the

chakras.

The third way is deep sadhna...many such small negative energies are

destroyed when you do sadhna, specially dhyana. The energy of dhyan

or the humming of AUM vibrates the chakras and brings up the

negative energies up for destruction. these destructions can be

felt by sudden stomach disorder, or fever, or some bad dreams...so

instead of getting into actual Karma, they destroy themselves.

I would like to give one example of Muladhara Chakra...how it affects

our psyche. There can be 3 conditions with a chakra..either it has

more negativity, or more positive energies..or it is covered by the

pure energy of Kundalini (which destroys the negativity and enhances

positive ones towards divinity)

Muladhara chakra - Earth Element, Color is blood red and god is Brahma.

=>when Muladhar chakra has more negative energies : Person feels

insecure, he does not believe any one, normally failure in worldly

affairs, sad and pessimistic

=>If Muladhara has more positive energies : Person will have good self-

image, he will feel secure and full of confidence, Happy and joy, less

prone to illness and good speaking power

=> If Muladhara is full with Kundalini Energies : Person enters into

world of pure intelligence away from lame logics and self-assertions.

Poetry, good administrative qualities...

If you like it, i will write about other chakras too.

Dear brothers & sisters

These posts are brilliant & I have SO many questions.... but it is

late, so for now just one...

So, if a chakra has more positive energy, or is covered by kundalini

energy - is it also open? And if it has more negative energy, will it

be closed?

Yes, dear Aum, please do write more about chakras.... but be ready

for my avalanche of questions! :-)

Dear Farah,

There are different explanations by different people on this

aspect. My personal view is that Chakra can be said to opened only

when it gets energy from Kundalini.

With negative energies it is more in negative resonance, and with

positive it has more positive effect on our psyche....even while

closed.

Chakras are partially opened when we meditate on them, or Kundalini

sends energy to them. They are fully open when kundalini sits in the

chakra's centre.

When a chakra is partially opened, its negativity is not annulled...it

is just more active.Closed chakras are due to evolution... we got them

closed and we will get them opened in further births.

There is Tamoguna in each chakra which keeps it closed...and

meditation removes that tamoguna.

so we have first task to remove the tam and negativity together to

keep a chakra healthy...affecting mind with positive effects.

in next posts i will write symptoms of negative and positive traits

of all other chakras...so one, by analysing one's personality can

guess which chakra has more negativity and needs to be addressed.

That will answer Ansuya's question too

I would like to add something further on Chakras: Chakras are like the

sky- they transmit the energy of the Kundalni(sun) to the Earth(body).

Now if the sky is cloudy(our Chakras have tamogun), the light of the

sun wont reach us. But it makes no difference to the sun or the sky-

they remain as they are, only the people living on Earth dont get

sunlight.

The chakras translate energy of the Kundalni into our mental & pranic

energies. If the chakras are full of negativity, they will translate

energy poorly, which means we will get poor mental & pranic energies.

Open chakras will allow the full light of the Kundalni, which is the

power of God, to shine in us, & that will automatically make us

advanced sadhaks.

Dear Shantnu

Are you saying that the chakras are not linked to certain physical

parts of the body? For example, it was my understanding that mooladhara

was associated with the spine, the adrenal glands, the kidneys & the

lower digestine tract... svadhistana was to do with the reproductive

organs... manipoor the digestive system, liver & muscles... etc, etc...

Is this just not the case as far as you're concerned?

You also say that you acknowledge this is what most of the books say -

bar a notable few - can you tell me what those books are so I can check

them out? I'd be interested to read what they have to say.

You talked about 'new age' books/authors etc - can you tell me where

you would place Deepak Chopra on this - is he a guru, or new age to

you? I have read some of his books & regularly do his version of chakra

balancing. (I must say he does link chakras to various physical parts

of the body.) He encourages you to visualise the chakra, with

corresponding colour & corresponding traits, whilst also chanting the

corresponding mantra - lam, vam, ram, yam, ham, sham, om. (So, for

example - anahata chakra, colour green & imagine giving & receiving

unconditional love, whilst chanting yam.) I'd be interested to hear

what you think of this (or anyone of course!) & also if you have

another way of working on chakras, I'd be interested to hear about that

too.

Dear Aum

This is a minefield to me - if I have an upset stomach, was it

something I ate, a bug I picked up, or the vibration of chanting

bringing up negative energies? How can you know for sure? You have

given lists of symptoms in the past for kundalini rising, many of which

I can tick off as having - but some of them sound like other things,

the menopause for example! I just feel a bit lost with all this.

Dear Aum

So, granthis - do we all have these from birth? Or do some of us get

them along the way? It was my understanding that these were blockages

held in the chakras, that hindered spiritual growth - is that

incorrect?

You were chatting with 'spy yoga' about karma being held in the

chakras & about how this negative energy could be removed

by 'completing the experience.' But am I correct that you also said

this wasnt always necessary - ie, we wouldnt want to encourage murder

for example - & that saadnaa would clear this karma? So can

clear any karma? If someone did something to me, or if I did

something to them - can this karma be cleared by saadnaa?

Can you, or anyone, recommend a book on the subject of chakras?

With much love

Farah

Dear sister, Anything is true only till you believe in its supporting

ecosystem.

all karma will be burn at once, when you get the real knowledge of The

shell covering and manifestation of Maya.

just like saying that, if you dream that you have really killed

somebody, and you are a criminal, you will remain a criminal only till

you are still dreaming, once you are out of the dream, you know that

it is all part of dream , and such things NEVER HAPPENED.

Very similarly, all this is just a play in the divine trance of Lord,

when you understand this trance responsible for manifestation, through

Sadhana, through establishing yourself in pure sattva , abd resolving

and getting independent of all dependency, and in the final stage,

getting independent of your very own ego, which will merge you, and

the world " ME " will have no meaning, all your karmas are burnt,

because you understand that they never happenned.

so to make it clear let me extend a bit,

You killed someone and became a criminal in your dream, than also

please understand that even if you have to be punished for this sin,

you have to be punished in that very dream.

once you wake up, neither dreams exist, nor the actions you committed.

This is just my understanding, and if i am wrong, here we have Aum and

others who are having good experience, in terms of Chakra and

meditation etc, technically. So they will be able to help and guide us

with right information.

Yes Farah dear you are very right, in the beginning it is difficult

to find out. But time will make you wise enough to understand.

If you feel a gust of energies going up your spine or hitting a

chakra, and you feel immense joy and feel a little enlightened...and

next day you find tummy our of order...then it is a symptom of

shaktipaat....for sure

The other sure sign of an illness coming out of purging is that it

comes suddenly....and no medicine has an effect and it goes away

automatically.

I got a dreaded disease, which even American and French doctors

could not catch..and they finally gave me a lollypop saying it may

be some genetical disorder and they know nothing abt the

disease....also that this disease is incurable.

Later i found, it was a big purging of old bad karma and the disease

automatically vanished without any medicine.

On another note...all the disease which have no cure, and are

strange are always spiritual diseases and are caused due to our past

karma. Blood pressure, liver damage, piles, sugar are the disease

which are more linked with our sick ego/mind. For example people

having very high ego or proud and thus harming others are more prone

to high BPs causing heart failure.....sometimes due to karma of last

birth.

This is a very complex issue and with a logical sentence cant be

really made to understand....but still we may try to understand.

If we understand how this matrix of energies is working in the

universe, we will understand most of the happenings around....the

disease, the abuses, the violence, the blood-shed...

Perhaps that z the reason god sent me to beirut to understand the

working of the other side of matrix...after understanding the

peaceful working of energies in scotland. :)
