Guest guest
Dear friends 2nd October is Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. Gandhi played an important role in India and is loved by millions. He might have done some faux-pas, to harm hinduism, but his contribution to hinduism can not be forgotten. When Muslims asked him if he respected Islam, why he does not convert to Islam. Gandhiji replied- It is due to the great teachings of Hinduism that I am able to appreciate the beauty of other religions. He did many mistakes in life...like we all do but he is the only person who publicly accepted his mistakes and told about his sins to all...without hiding anything. That makes him Mahatama I am personally against his political moves... but as a hindu and as a spiritual person I have high regards for Gandhiji...and wish to pay my respects to him on Gandhi Jayanti. He certainly had a very high degree of spiritual energies to affect the history of India. AUM

We seem to have all these meaningless days off & celebrations in the west - bank holidays, bonfire night etc - & yet no-one mentions a special day like this. Our schools are too busy teaching our children about 'The hungry caterpillar' or 'chicken Licken & the sky falling down', to mention Ghandi. Oh dear - sounds rather negative, but this has been my experience. With love Farah

I love Gandhi so I can't not write anything about him. Even great saints equate him to the greatest of saints. No matter what people say about him his sacrifice was great and so were his principles. I am all respect for him. I think he was no less than a karma yogi after all not all people die with name of Ram on there lips. His contribution was to humanity and not to any religion in particular. >His autobiography is filled with praises of Rama nama from how he would use Ram nama in his childhood to caste away his fears of ghosts and how Ram always saved himself from situations that could lead to his downfall. I believe in his practice of morals. He would read and observe and pick a little from here and there and follow with unflinching faith and love the principles. Thats why they say that purity and faith come from heart and not from anywhere outside. And so He led a kind of ordinary life in which there was discipline and purity WHICH TOOK HIM PLACES.This is true learning and goodness. Its unfortunate that in todays world people learn so much , they think themselves to be spiritual but they fail to follow the basic and smallest principles such as not coveting, not being deceptive , not being selfish or malicious etc.. They never follow principles but talk a lot about them. They say that they are bhaktas and they talk about God, they place numerous pictures of God on thier office table and lie and even swear in the name of the same God when there weaknesses are caught. The heart should be pure and actions right otherwise no matter how much one thinks he has become spiritual in reality he isnt spiritual because being a human is foremost necessity to be spiritual. " together Love , faith and hope never fail but the greatest of them is forever love " - Bible Love Rama. Follow his ways and principles Shri Ram
