How to control mind?

Well if you are thinking of controlling the mind, then have you ever

pondered how you will do it? Mind cannot control mind! This whole

approach is wrong, mind is not to be controlled, it has to be

understood, to be seen as it is. Whenever you begin to witness your

mind, see how it functions. When you watch your mind, seeing every

thought without judging, without labeling the thought that it is good or

bad, thoughts begin to dim away. Slowly you find that the number of

thoughts reduces; and as your awareness gets a higher degree of

presence, mind simply stops functioning.

 

Mind is not more than a reflection of your sensations and perceptions.

It has great functionalities as it is a tool to learn, think, remember,

analyze, synthesize and if we know how to use it properly, then it is

the most utilitarian instrument that nature has gifted us. If we

don't know how to use it – well, in that case, it uses us. Not

only mind uses us, it rather abuses us. We do not have to fight with the

mind; it is just a shadow, nothing more. Why worry!
