Guest guest
I listen many contradicting definitions of Moksha. What is real definition of Moksha. Is Moksha same as Mukti ? Can we attain Moksha before death, in this body? Am I asking too many questions ? LOLz (that is also a question) ansuya

These are very similar to me, but I think Moksha can be attained after death & mukti before - but if moksha can only take place in the mind, how can this happen after death? Im really not sure & will be interested to hear what others think too. And no, you could never ask too many questions! That's what this is all about - ha, ha, we are not here to share cake recipes! Guest guest
Yes dear Ansuya you are right, each group have their own perception of Moksha. For a Christian/Muslim Moksha is going to heaven and live there eternally for a Buddhist Moksha is merging into a Void without any karma, any ego and any feelings...just ZERO For a Shaiva Moksha is living with Shiva in his Loka, either like him or like his Gana (servant) For a Vaishnava Moksha is living with Krishna/vishnu either like him or as his servant For a Vedanti, Moksha is getting out of the clutches of Maya But you will see a striking similarity between most of them.. and that is living with the lord, out of Maya. Normally Mukti is used for freedom from birth and death in physical plane... where a soul continue taking births in higher astral planes and makes her progress without coming to material world so Generally we can say Moksha is when one gets out of the clutches of Maya. As I wrote in my earlier posts, all higher lokas upto Brahmloka are still under Maya...and those who reach there have to come back as human for further progress. similarly heavens and hells are not eternal but transitory and soul has to come back as human again. It is only when a soul reaches Ishwar Tattwa (shiv/vishnu/shakti)...that it can be said out of Maya. so we can say Moksha starts from Ishwar Tattwa, as it is here where we are out of Maya.... there are some more planes above Ishwara Tattwa ..viz Sadashiva, Paramshiva, a big void and then Turiya.. (Brahm/krishna/shiv) so some souls may by-pass Ishwar Tattwa and reach higher realms too...but from Ishwar Tattwa and above all are Mokshas and have equal value. Those who reach shiva loka/vishnu loka... merge into Turiya alongwith ishwar tattwa at the time of Mahapralaya AUM
