Please dont laugh...but today i was in a very funny situation. I met

a local muslim gentleman, who likes Hinduism. He asked me to tell him

about Gita, as to what is its philosophy.

You know I was really in a fix...to explain Gita to a person who knows

nothing abt karma rebirth etc.

How would you have explained Gita to a person who knows nothing about

Hinduism...without any technical terms.

I know it is a bit difficult...but your answers will help me explain

him when i meet him again next week..

I would have told him in short, how it is different.

I would have told him, Gita and Hinduism is the only religion which

explains you all the paths available, and also explains you the

benefits and suffering of each path.

But at last, it never dictates you to do this or that. It SAYS US TO

CHOOSE.

everyone has good and bad parts in him, so Hinduism never says That

bad doesn't exist, It says , that if a person has good and bad, god

never minds for that, the only thing god minds is the path we choose.

I would have also told him something about freedom of religion. as

that is something exclusive to Hinduism and it is its pride. There is

no other religion which teaches tolerance.

This much should be adequate to a person who doesn't know the

technicalities of Hinduism, to get started i guess... Hope doing so

will ignite some interest in him at least.

Dear Aum,

There is nothing to laugh here. When a person never knows anything

about it. Think that a child is asking you. Do you think the child

knows what is about hindus or hinduism. But we slowly tell them step

by step.

So think him as a small child and let him know.If he is not able to

understand. Teach him with an examples. It will be easy for him to

know well. Best wishes.

Smiles,

Sarvamaatha.
