Where does the soul live? The Upanishads/Vedant say the Jivatma lives in the Heart(the Spiritual Heart). The Jivatma is our Causal Body, & in the heart of Jivatma, there is a small point that is the Paramatama. All its meditations involved concentrating on the Heart, & the awareness that rises from there. Tantra says the soul lives in head- at the 100 petalled Sahasra Chakra, & all its meditations involve bringing Kundalni upto Sahasra. So where does the soul live- head or heart? And what is the link between these 2 systems? love Shantnu PS- Yes I know all paths lead to same destination etc etc- no politically correct answers please! Tantra says, in head. # So we take here the soul as Ego, not the SOUL, as the SOUL is all and everything. Yes as per Upanishadas, the ego lives in the heart as Angushthha purusha. During waking state he is in eyes, in dreaming sleep it lives in throat chakra and during deep sleep, it lives in Heart chakra. Tantra says ego is in Agya chakra as from here, the world of Maya starts. So in a way both are accepting it....as Upanishadas say Jiva lives in eyes during waking state, and tantra says it is in Agya chakra...living in both eyes may mean living in Agya chakra. Above Agya chakra, there is are many planes of existence, and it is finally in Sahasradhara chakra, that the ego is destroyed...and pure Shiva Tattwa remains. When Kundalini reaches Agya chakra, ego is freed from all the Maya and starts its journey above...that also means ego's main residing is in Agya chakra. The moment we are in touch with our awareness.. we can see ourselves in everything.. Just focus on a shrub and we become IT. Focus on a divine form and we become it.
