Guest guest
Pranam The seasons of Navaratris are here, and we are going to keep Lord Ganesha Idols in our homes but before that why do we celebrate Navaratris. As I read somewhere that in Hinduism it is not a compulsion to do Pooja or Worship God everyday, so for the convenience of the people the ancestors offered 3 Navaratris 1 Sri Rama Navami 2 Ganesha 3 Devi Navaratri Where in the first case of Sri Rama Navami we have bronze or metal Idols which we worship for Nine days, as they are summer days even the Prasad is sugar water or something like it in south India. As I said earlier they are summer days and scarcity of water the Idols are made in metal rather in clay. Second it is Ganesha we do Clay Idols which we take from the ponds, we do so because the rain water can be collected more in the ponds. The other things we give to Idol are few branches of different trees this is because by cutting few branches we get good bushy branches for the trees in this season and the Prasad is made of rice flour which we submerge in the water at the time of Nimmajan, this is also because the food is for fish in the pond, and the clay Idol which is submerged in water again turns into clay once again, so the pond regains its old clay. Third Devi Navaratri we once again we do clay idols with clay which we collect from the pond. And even then it is rainy season which helps the earth to regain its flavor. All the above we do by the rules of Nature and for the Nature. But now what are we doing in the name of these Navratris The paints used on the clay idols were natural and water colours Plaster Of Paris Idols Enamel Paints Trees were cut totally (not the tips of the branches) Sound Pollution Pollution of every Kind. Calcium Magnesium Silicon Arsenic Iron Led Mercury Levels are increasing in the water after the Nimmajan. So my humble request is Use CLAY IDOLS, Use less of tree branches and less Hungama. In north, we observe 8 days fasting and read durga Saptshati. some bhaktas even dont shave, but most of the masses refrain from alocohol meat etc during navratras. On Ashtami day, we invite 7/9/11 little girls and worship them as Devi and then feed them and give them gifts etc. Aum
Guest guest
Babaji the concepts are good when they are started but as they grew old the concepts became some what like mandatory and custom rather than a spiritual or divine work. And when some thing becomes mandatory or custom then the problem starts as I mentioned earlier. Regards Badri
