Guest guest
Babaji: For a Rasika premi of LOrd Krishna , every day is day of CELEBRATION ! a KRISHNA PREMI always rejoices in sharing Hari Katha with other like minded devotees in a holy satsangha such as this . Babaji, you are a master story teller - but , still i will make bold to share an story on Sri Krishna Prema with you all . One day , Lord Krishna was sitting in His palace in Dwaraka dham and suddenly he experienced an excruciating headache . Narada muni who was visiting Sri Krishna at that time saw his lord and master in anguish and suffering - Narada muni asked Lord Krishna what was the cause for the Lord's pain and suffering. Sri Krishna answered 'O! Narada Muni ! I have an excruciating headache and the only way to get rid of this painful headache is if I can get the 'DUST OF THE FEET' of a true devotee and sprinkle it on my head , my headche will vanish and i will be pain-free. Narada muni was a great devotee of Lord Krishna but he dared not apply his foot dust on his lord and master as he considered this a Vaishnava apradha. Narada Muni assured the Lord that he will get the remedy for his sickness and requested the Lord to wait . Narada muni then approached Sri Krishna's wives Satyabhama , Rukmini and all the other sixteen thousand one hundred six consorts of Krishna to ask for the dust of their feet. But all of Sri Krishna's wives declined to offer the dust of their feet saying they cannot do this to their lord and master as He was their supreme husband worthy of worship and veneration. Narada muni was very disappointed but he thought he will approach the Gopis and see if they would help him out. When the Gopis saw Narada muni , the first question they asked was 'how was their beloved Shyam Sundar '? Narada muni replied their Shyam Sundar was suffering from severe headache and only their foot dudust would cure their beloved Gopikrishna! On hearing this , some gopis fainted and a few others immediately volunteered their 'foot dust ' and said 'Go , Narada Muni ! GO , AT ONCE , DO NOT DELAY - Take our foot dust and sprinkle it on Sri Krishna's head. " Narada Muni was touched by this gesture on the part of the Gopis and understood the real meaning of raga-anuraga bhakti! The gopis were wiwilling to risk anything just to see their Gopi Jana Vallabha Happy and painfree! Here , i would like to recall verse 21 from Narada Bhakti Sutra yathâ vraja-gopikânâm ( verse 21) The cowherd women of Vraja are an example of pure bhakti. Compared to all of Lord Krishna's bhaktas such as Uddhava , Prahlada , Arjuna , even Mother Yasodha , the Gopi's love for Sri Krishna is the supreme form of Devotion . Jai Sri Gopi Krishna!
