My dear Jitinder, this is a very important and mystic question... if we have a free will or not. I personally feel, free will itself is a relative thing... on one plane we have free will on another we dont Mother Nature presents us with a choice of some alternatives, depending upon our karma, our environments and divine plan. We select one of those alternatives and cry - I have free will !!! i chose what to do !! Is it really a free will, when the choices presented by Mother Nature were beyond our control.... we only had free will to select one of those choices. we have to admit that every desire which we think of our own ego's decision is in fact forced on us by the Universal system. Our desire will be called free, when it will coincide with the desire of the Excellent and will not be checked by any boundaries. Our desire can only be called a free will if it is not checked by the universal energies and by its gunas as also not by time and space. But the ego that desires is himself not an independent entity, hence no desire can be a free desire if it is emanating from the ego. At any given time, we are wearing the iron chains of Karma around our neck, which drags us around, & forces us to do all sorts of actions. The 9 planets, the Lords of Karma, have the power to manipulate our minds directly. Then we have the Rakshas(low level demons), & low level Devas, who dont want to be born here, but want to play here, so try to control us by remote control. This is done mainly by firing thoughts at us, & convincing us they are our thoughts. Then you have High level Asuras & Devas, who fight for long term dominance of all planes, & use us as tools. Then finally, there is the Universal Spirit, which has its own unknown plans.......
