Thanks senthil for bring up this important question. I asked this

the question still remains unanswered as to why the world is so

restless, violent and fanatic despite so many prophets of peace

(jesus, Budha, Mahavir), so many saints and so many Incarnations of

God.

 

Will our members write something in answer to this important

Dear Friends,

 

The world is restless because the mind that perceives it is restless.

 

As we focus our minds more and more on the problems, more and more problems

will manifest.

 

Mother Theresa was once asked to attend an anti-war rally and she wisely

refused.

 

She replied instead " Do let me know if there is a peace rally elsewhere " .

 

The point is really that although we want peace, harmony and forgiveness, Our

mind's attention and thoughts, as a result of our social conditioning, are all

focused on getting rid of war , how to get rid of disharmony and how to prevent

revenge. Strangely, the universe picks up the words " war " , " disharmony' and

" revenge " and responds by manifesting more of these.

 

Universal law of attraction says that that the vibration of the thoughts that

we send out, returns to us manifest manifold.

 

Once we focus on peace, harmony and forgiveness, the world will naturally

transform as we would have transformed first. One cannot find the word " hate "

neither in the Bhagavad Gita nor the Qua'ran nor any Holy Book on any religion

as the Universal law has it that one who has love in his heart and peace in his

mind is at peace with the world.

It depends on what you mean by Gods mission? If having a calm,

peaceful place, with no wars, diseases or strife, then we already have

heaven for that- why would God go & create Earth?

 

And most religons teach how to reach heaven- the ancient Vedic

sacrifices guranteed heaven, where you could stay for millions of

years, maybe even whole Kalpa, which is pretty long, even for Devas.

And even if you had to be reborn, just do those rituals again, & be

free for another millions years. Yet all the Devas want be born here,

they are tense as there arent enough high level Souls in whose house

they can take birth. If peace, tolerance is all that is required,

heaven already has that, so the Devas should be happy!

 

If merging into some silent inactive Brahm or featureless Void were

enough, then why would Prakriti Layas(people who merged in Nature) or

similar types og Beings take birth? They do come to Earth- people like

Raman Maharishi who get enlightenment at very young age, have zero

Karma, still they have to take birth- as they want the final jump.

 

But thats not what God wants. God created Earth for a reason. It is

the place where the Divine is found, where evolution takes place,

where a stone, a plant, an animal, or a murderer- all have the chance

to become the next Raman or Aurobindo. This evolution is fraught with

violence & struggle, as at each level negative forces try to block you

& stop your progress.

 

And -ve forces arent just demons. We humans love our pets- yet how

many of us would compliacted rituals to allow them to get human

birth(this was the reason for animal sacrifices in Vedic times- the

Rishi guranteed the animal took Human birth- this way he got no bad

Karma). The Devas(lower demi Gods like Gods for rain, fire etc) are

kind to us, but the way we are kind to our animals. Anytime we try to

go beyond them, they become demons & attack us.

 

The individual soul has to continually battle, fight with forces that

seek to stop its growth. Thats why most of of main Gods are fighters-

Durga, Hanuman, Rudra. Even Vishnu, supposedly a kind God, usually

takes Avtaars as warriors-Parshuram, Ram & Krishna. And when

Madhu-Kaitab tried to kill Brahma, he picked up his weapons & fought

them off personally.

 

Our idea of a God is who will crave to our lower emotional desires-

give us plenty of food, sex & money, & leave us in peace. Since we

dont get that, & have to fight for it, we blame God!

 

None of the Avtaar came here to bring " world peace " or anything else

the Miss World winning girls claim to want. Look carefully:

 

1. Jesus- he came to correct the old Jews love for rituals- to show

them rituals werent that necessary, God could be had by pure Love. He

never came to start a new religon, or convert people.

 

2. Ram- Came to show that inspite of all unfairness, a person should

leave side of Dharma, & fight for it if necesaary.

 

3. Krishna- Came to show how to live in Kaliyug, & fight in Kaliyug.

 

4. Vivekanand, Yogananand etc- Came to refresh methods of Yoga &

meditation that had been lost or corrupted into blind ritual.

 

The world wasnt made to run away from- either to heaven or Ashrams.

The world is a Battle ground-claiming to be tolerant or peace loving

is an excuse not to face the violence of the world, the same excuses

Arjun tried to use with Krishna. But Krishna just laughed, as he knew

it was cowardice, an unwillingess to make tough decisions, & not

Vedant. But those same arguments of peace, tolerance, surrender are

still used today.

 

The Soul only progresses by struggle. To be able to see the Light of

the Divine in all this struggle & violence, to be able to see Gods

play in all demonic forces that seek to destroy is, is the goal of

Sadhna.

 

As Krishan said to Arjun , Be thou a Warrior Arjun!
