The rebirth of Hinduism

Namashkar,

Recently I was looking through some books- when I found that most of

modern Hinduism is based on what Saints born in the 19th-20th century

taught, how they interpreted Hinduism.

If you buy a book on Hinudism, it will be written either direct by the

following, or one of their followers : Vivekanand, RamaKrishna

Paramhans, Yoganand, Lahiri Mahashya, Shivananda, Aurobindo,

Prabhupad, Raman Maharishi, Tagore... this is just a very small list

that I can remember.

All these were born in late 19th/early 20th century. They all rejected

social evils like caste. They all believed in doing our duty, & not

running away from world. Some like Vivekananda were social reformers,

while others like Sri Aurobindo were fiery nationalists.

They all preached unity of the 3 paths- Bhakti, Gyan & Karma.

Ramakrishna was also a great Gyani, while Aurobindo, an intellectual

if there ever was one, wrote the most beautiful bhakti poetry. Raman,

who preached pure Vedant/Gyan Yoga, recommened his followers should

continue their jobs/social life(Karma) while meditating.

What astrological factors allowed so many great souls to be born in

such a short time(100 years is nothing in the Universal time)?

Will there another time when such great souls are reborn?

Will Hindus be able to implement the teachings of these Masters, or

will we again fall into Tamogun that caused us to suffer for last 1000

years, & destroyed our once great civilisation?

All members, feel free to give your views. I see we have 100's of

members, but only 3-4 actually post anything. Dont feel embarassed- we

are all students here, there is no Guru.

Good observation shanracer,

This is true that all these saints came in a particular

time...and what is their astrological significance... i realy dont

know

But i observed one thing... in sixties, whenever I went with my

grandmother to listen to some saint, i always observed teethless

oldies sitting there...half of them sleeping, and most talking or

drowned in thoughts.

and now i see younger people going to lectures of saints. The

youth of today is far more spiritually awakened than the youths of

yesteryears.

In west Hindu/buddhist philosophy is slowly taking over,

specially the educated class. Yoga and Meditation is not taken as

Blasphemy by many people.... Are these good signs ??

I think, the more the Kaliyuga the real saints will stop coming

to the public. If we go by Bhavishya puran, the Dharma will be on

decline... and one day spiritual people will hide from atheists.

But let us be optimistic...and cross this ocean of manifested

world in this birth...Amen

love

This seems a paradox, Babaji. All our scriptures point to a dark

Kaliyug, yet as you said, people are becoming more spiritual, they now

have more sources in information.

Sitting in my home, I can read all the Vedas, Upanishads, Gita,

Purans, Mahabharat, Ramayan, everything. In ancient times, power lay

in the hand of those who could get rare copies of secret books.

Nowdays, this isnt so. There are 100s of books on meditations. People

who spend years meditating write a book on it sharing their secret

experiences, while in ancient times you would have to spend decades

looking for a real Guru who could share his experiences.

Knowledge has lost its power- knowledge can be had easily in Kaliyug.

But wisdom is still rare.

So, if people are getting more spiritual, knoledge is easily

available, how can we then envision the dark periods when spiritual

people will be humiliated & attacked, as our scriptures say? Surely,

it should be opposite?

Love,

Shantnu

PS If there are any astrologers(I know there are, as people have put

up good posts on astrology some time ago)- pls share with us if there

were any special combinations that allowed so many great souls to take

birth in such a short time?

Information has lost its meaning now. Wisdom is required...and

real wisdom cant be had from books...that z why we need Sadhna
