Guest guest
Why are our heart longing towards god? forexample, " A " is a person who is very near to temple. so " A " visit temple daily and enjoys gods durshan. But " B " is a friend of " A " who is very far away, feels that " B " cannot go to temple and see gods durshan. " B " is very spiritual. " B " knows god is in " B " 's heart. Still " B " feels that " B " could not go to temple. Why is our heart longing to see god, when he is inside our heart, our mind and everything we see. Is it that are we not seeing god from heart, that's why we long to see the god in temple? Please bear it with me if my english is wrong. if wrong, correct me. Guest guest
B should build a small temple in her home with small Murtis/photos easily available from internet or shops...that way she wont have to miss going to Temple. God in heart is good in theory, but in practice, one may feel the need to visit temples. Visiting temples is not just about getting Darshan, but also doing Satsang with other like minded religious people. However, if this is not possible, one can always do Satsang in online groups like these. love Shantnu
Guest guest
Shanracer sir, What is satsang mean? We see god in everything we see and talk and enjoy.I felt there is no need for B to build a small temple in home or elsewhere. when B's heart itself a temple. Then how can B be longing to see god in temple? I mean why is B's heart still search god in temple while god resides in his heart as a temple? , shanracer <no_reply wrote:
Guest guest
Going to temples is a very basic concept of Sadhna. God is not only in temples but in our hearts too. But for a common person going to temple is important as we get holy vibrations there and thus start our journey towards spirituality. God is every where, but he does not show himself openly. Just by thinking god is in our heart so we should not go to temples etc...is another hypocracy. Once we have realised (realised...not mentally thought) that god is in us, we will see him everywhere....till then temples, and pilgrimage will help in this realisation The problem with modern people is that they stress more upon mind. They read some books and their mind and intellect is satisfied that god is everywhere, and they leave their search. I know very well the powers of george bush,...i also know what a president of america can do.. but knowing it does make me a president of USA. I will know and realise the powers of president only when I am on that seat. similarly knowing about God and his attributes will not do....we have to realise HIM... and Sadhna is the way.. not books with love

Basically in a general terms one should start with chanting of a mantra (any mantra which suits you or is liked by you)...it can be Shiva, shakti or krishna mantra...and a little bit of Pranayama to start with. As i wrote earlier, on founder's home page there is an article " Sadhna for beginners " . It gives a gneral idea as how to start sadhna.... do it till you get a guru for further guidance. Guest guest
Samirji, For a start, try reading our group founders homepage, link available on Home page of this group. To begin with, start any Sadhna. Ideally, this should be 1 main mantra, Pranayam, & some Dhyan meditation, like concentrating between eyebrows(3rd eye). You have to do this simple excersises daily for at least 1/2 hour(or 15 min in beginning), no excuses, for at least 2-3 years, before your mind & Pran become calm enough to do advanced excercises. As they say, when the student is ready, the Guru appears. But most people, get bored or dissapointed, & leave half way, which means they never get any result. the key is keep preservering, till one day the door suddenly opens, & one sees the hidden secrets of the Soul. But this process takes time- as I said, first 2-3(maybe even more) years, one sees no results, yet the Sadhna is working secretly inside, clearing our bad Karma so we can get a boost. love, Shantnu

Guest guest
Samirji, I have another suggestion. One can set aside an hour every day for " Sight seeing " What Is meant by that is to watch your body, thoughts and emotions Just go on observing what is hapening in your mind Do not debate with your thoughts Do not classify them as good or bad Do not judge.. just let them pass The only tric is to be aware and non interfering By and by you will start seeing an interval between your thoughts... Once the gap is found, all one needs to do is dwell more in it. This method is the airplane method to still your mind.... Love Bala... Guest guest
Senthil, I know it is not addressed to me, But I think i can take the liberty of answering it... Hope babaji wont mind!! In tamil you say " Mounam enbadu gnana varambu " Silence is the peak of gnana Gnana yoga mens the yoga of understanding... Not the yoga of knowledge as people think it to be. The basis of Gnana yoga is to read and then try to actualize the teachin in life... Take the example of ramana maharishi... His Method was asking " WHO am I " Now... If you just ask the question within yourself verbally a million times, there will be no gnana... you will only have a headache But if you try to live it and ask with the whole of your being You will not get a answer, but will dissolve in the question That is Gnana Yoga.... Love Bala... On 8/29/07, Senthil <senthil_sym wrote: >
