Dear Senthil,

yes normally we should not change place, mantra and time quite

often... however keeping practical difficulties in mind we can have

a change but change should not be a regular thing.

Place and time play a very important role. Our mind tunes

itself to the place and time and it gets ready for meditation at the

same time and coming to same place. The place where you meditate

also vibrates with your spiritual energies... so changing a place

may deprive you of the holy vibs.

Also no outsider should be allowed to visit your meditation

place, as the visitor may disturb the energy pattern of the

meditation place and may leave his negativity around.

Mantra and deity must be fixed for life. so better we think

carefully, as to which name of god suits our system, and should

never change it.

We can have a chief deity and continue worshipping her...but

there is no harm in a secondary worship of another form/name for

temporary meditations.

for example, I have my main Mantra which i have been reciting for

10 years, but in between i chant Durga Mantra or kali mantra or any

other mantra for local benefits...but i never leave my main mantra.

so chose your main mantra and name of god and never change it

all the life.... of course during bad times we can worship Durga or

kali but that would be secondary meditation.

One more thing, the meditation is not merely sitting in a

posture for some time and forgetting it all the day. Sadhna is for

24 hours 30 days and 12 months.... always we must remember the

deity, and any time we should chant the name.

If proper sadhna with Japa, Pranayama and dhyana are done

regularly.... i am sure it will bring quick results.

Dear brother

Thankyou for your advice on meditation... I have some questions.

When you say the place for meditation should be kept the same & 'no

outsider' should be allowed there. Do you mean a room should be kept

for meditation alone? I usually meditate in the lounge, where my

friends & family will come & go from time to time. Are friends &

family considered 'outsiders?' If you are saying you should have a

room for meditation alone & nothing else, the only room I could use

is the one Im in now, with a computer in it. Would the computer have

some detrimental effect on the positive vibrations?

With love

Dear Farah,

One separate room (even a small boxroom) will do. If it is not

possible then certainly your room will do, computer will not affect.

Doing meditation in the lounge is certainly not adviseable...

our parents/children/friends.. everyone except you is an outsider..

Only those whom you know have high spiritual energies should be

allowed in the room. A corner in a room where normally no one

treads will also do.

I give you an example. In delhi i had my meditation room built

on the roof and i never allowed anyone except our group doing Aum

sadhna there. Once what happened i had a very old friend from a

remote village, visited me with one of his relatives. Both were

drunk as they came from a party. It was winter and i was really in

a fix, it was not good to put them in the small flat with my family.

so finally I decided to put them in the meditation room. I

wished to see what happens if two drunkards sleep in the room where

a group of 6 people had been doing sadhna for about one year. So we

settled talking as we had met after long time. My friends started

their talking from women, switched over to politics and within 20/30

minutes they were discussing Guru Nanak and his teachings (they were

sikhs). I was really very happy to see the effect of the room, on

two people who never talked about religion earlier.

So once in a while the vibs may change the people, but its

pious atmosphere may be disturbed if many visitors keep coming

there.That z why our sages invented temples/churches/mosques....

when so many people are worshipping there, they leave holy vibs and

these vibs affect the new comer. Since in temples the strength of

vibs is very high, visitors can not decrease them, but in our small

room this is not the case.

That's very interesting, thankyou. I'll make this little room my

meditation room from now on... it has a lovely feel about it too.

With love & good wishes to you.
