sonja 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2009 I am a VATTA/PITTA type, and my vatta is very imbalanced. lots of gaz and bloating all the time. the problem is, I just love tomatoes, and found out that, ayurveda does not favor tomatoes, and, they are no good for me at all... question... is this really true? does anybody know of any tomato sauce recipe, that is not too bad for a vatta/pitta constitution? hope anybody can help. vaidyapradiphira 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2009 its not tru that ayurved does not favour tomatoes. if ur prakruti is vata/pitta than tomato is not good for u coz in ayurved there is perticular "rasa" ADVISED FOR DIFFERENT DOSH. like in vata prakruti madhur-amla-lavan (Sweet-sour-salty)is good for u. and katu-tikt-kashay(bitter,pungent,astringent) is not good. In Pitta swadu-tikt-kashay is good and katu-amla-lavan is bad so if u r vata/pitta than amla ras(sour) is not good for u so that all things which has amla ras like tomato and other food is not so good for u for more information u can mail me at : vaidyapradiphira@.co.in i m ayurvedic doctor from ahmedabad-india have a healthy life
