empy 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 Dear devotees, I just want to clear my doubts. I was told that there is a way to get 'Upanayanam' done. Place the sacred thread on the bottom of the door frame, go to a temple, and wear the sacred thread. No muhurtam, or brahmin is necessary. Is it true? regards -Prasad. bhaktajan 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2009 Ah, this reminds me: When the mazuza was hanging by one screw from the door jamb at my boss's office entry --I compained [though I'm not Jewish] that we will look like 'gavones' if we don't fix it straight away. So when I asked one 'rabbi-certified' co-worker he said 'you need the proper pray scroll and a true rabbi and the proper prayers' --well after waiting for some one to take care of it --I did it my self. [some people neglect their little-dharma-duties].
