Jim Posted November 9, 2007 Author Report Share Posted November 9, 2007 No, I am certain the Deity is not Balarama. The Deity has a blackish complexion. It appears to be a very opulent Deity. To view the Deity, Google this, exactly as shown: "Krsna book" volume 2 Important: include the quotation marks before "Krsna" and after "book". Ensure you add "volume 2" at the end. Sri Nathaji has two arms, His left arm lifted high (as in lifting Govardhana Hill?). The Deity shown in the old Krsna book has four arms; the upper right holds the Sudarshana chakra, the upper left holds the Pancajanya, the conch-shell. The lower hands are lowered in the neutral pose. And, no, it is not Sri Venkateswara (Balaji); that sublime Deity holds His lower right hand in the varada hasta (boon-giving) position, and His lower left hand is in the katyavalambita pose ("for those who surrender unto Me, the material impediments are only this high [viz., knee-high]"). RadheRade1657 Posted November 10, 2007 Report Share Posted November 10, 2007 on the picture i saw on google it was Sri Nathaji, who has His right hand raised up (like He's lifting Govardhan Hill), and who has a more esoteric and symbolic look to Him than a realistic look.
