Guest guest
Om Namashivaya Our Ancients are brilliant people. The Vedas and Puranas ask us to do good. All religion ask us to do good. A simple interpretation is: do good and you'll replied with goodness, vice versa. Even in Shiva Purana it is stated that, no matter if you did not chant many mantras you chant or did not pray longer hours, but make sure you have good mannerism, good attitude, patience, tolerence - God is with you, protect you. Now my question is: can you please explain on the supertitions? There's a lot to be listed. Below i listed some of them and my opinion why the supertition came about. Pardon me only if you have prove from Vedas and Puranas. 1. Do not cut finger nails / hair at night - there was no light those days. 2. Do not cut nails / hair on Friday - no idea (all days are good days) 3. Do not give money on Friday - no idea (all days are good days) 4. Do not go to temple / pray during mentrual - To get a rest. God created us, he says pray everyday, then why should we give a break for 5 days. Those days, women never step out of home unless to temple, so they were asked to take a rest during menstrual. Now women travel around world, but why cant enter temple? 5. Do not pray for a month when a child is born - we pray to God for a child, to save both mother and child during delivery, but to thanks Him, have to wait for a month? 6. Do not pray when family members are death - prayers are happy moments, so when we are sad, we will be unable to chantt properly. But getting back to pray depend on the person itself, we cant limit a time of 1 week / 16 days. Shouldn't we pray to bless the soul of the death? 7. Wearing metti - to make the geneticals and woom strong (science - reflexology) 8. Sindhoor - women by nature are soft. sindhoor, which have a nature of hot (anger) in forehead gives power for the women to run the family, especially her children. 9. Sandhanam - Men by nature are hot tempered. Sandhanam have cooling power, which will calm men. 10. Mangalyam - no idea 11. Use right hand to give and receive - good mannerism 12. Read something (mantra, subjects, book etc) early morning - helps memory Can you explain?
