Can anyone please clarify me, "why we are saying Amavasya day (No moon day) as Fully-Auspecious day" - ie., in Tamil "Niraindha Nannal" - When we actually dont see Moon at all?

If we call Pournami as Niraindha nannal, then it would be correct as we have it as full moon day. But why the word "Niraindha nannal" has been given to amavasya day?
