Ketu and the Tunguska Event

Ketu is associated with comets, and a study of The

Tunguska Event will convince us about the role that he

plays.

 

According to Time[1], "Most scientists today believe

that the Tunguska event was caused by an asteroid or a

comet that heated so rapidly upon plunging into the

atmosphere that it blew up some five miles above the

surface with an explosive force of 10 to 15 megatons."

 

In the book "The Mystery of the Tunguska Fireball[2],"

author Surendra Verma mentions that the explosion was

registered by an earthquake-measuring station some

4,000 kilometers away in the city of St Petersburg.

This book also mentions that the location of the event

was latitude 60 degrees 55 minutes north, longitude

101 degrees 57 minutes east, 0014 GMT.

 

Using this data [30 June 1908; 00:14 GMT; 60 n 55, 101

e 57], we get the positions as follows:

>From 19 Jun 1908 to 3 Sep 1908, gu - ch - sa was

running.

 

Let us look at some points:

 

* Boomi Karaka Kuja is Neecha in both Rasi and

Navamsa.

* Dasa Natha Guru is Neecha in Navamsa and conjunct

Rahu.

 

Ketu plays a prime role here because:

 

* He is in the 6th from Lagna, and occupies the

Moolatrikona of Dasa Natha Guru.

* He is aspected by Pratyantar Natha Sani, whose

Moolatrikona falls in the malefic 8th.

* The 6th house, a trishadya, receives the aspects of

the malefic lords of the other two trishadyas, namely

the 3rd and the 11th.

* While Rahu and Ketu have no ability to aspect, Rahu

influences the 6th because he is conjunct the lords of

the 3rd and the 11th, who aspect the 6th house. Here,

note that, Rahu, as per "Sani Vad Rahu," owns the 8th

house.

 

While Dasa, Antar and Pratyantar are all important,

the Pratyantar gains greater importance. Here, Sani,

the lord of the 8th by Moolatrikona, occupies the star

of 3rd and 12th lord Budha and aspects the 6th house,

which contains Ketu.

 

Note the impact of Ketu--he rules things that do not

have an easy solution, and even today, people do not

know what exactly caused the Tunguska Event!
