Guest guest
In a question about AMLA PITTA there was an opinion in the group that ,first shodhana sould be done by vamana. But the shodana karma for pitta is virechana. Then how come vamana works here. Is it because since amasaya is kapha stana we are using it. Cant we remove excess pitta by virechana. Please clear my doubt Riyaz
Guest guest
dear Riyaz, when the pitta is coming in upward direction ie. reflux; naturally body intends to throw it out from the nearest route available. in such cases vamana is the natural choice and so is it advised in ayurvedic texts. such pitta is called Ama-pitta or undigested pitta. virechana is done when the pitta is increased / accumulated in the lower digestive tract. virechana is intended for Niraama-pitta or pitta without the ama element. such pitta causes burning in lower abdomen or in other parts of body like skin, eyes, etc. hence vamana as well as virechana both are indicated in shodhana of pitta depending upon its clinical manifestation.
