Guest guest
Shivaya Namaha Let us never forget that in the case of all the Nayanmars devotion invariably meant expansion of the heart, and, therefore, service and charity. Nayanmars gave such a great place to externals like the sacred ash, Rudraksha, etc. These symbols remind one constantly of God: and, when they are said to remove our sins, they remove our sinful tendencies, too, by constantly reminding us of God, and keeping evil out of our mind. --Dust of Gurudevs Feet Venkatesananda Om Arunachaleswaraya namaha, Ramya

Guest guest
Om Namah Sivaya Divaya Desam is 108 great abodes of Lord Vishnu (most in Tamil Nadu). These abodes are sacred because they are mentioned in hymns composed by the Alvar saints (South Indian Vaishnava Saints) were called collectively by the name Nalayira-Prabandham, a series of four thousand poems. In Saivism we have Paadal Petra Stalam (Sivastalam) : 275 great abodes of Lord Siva. Glories of these great abodes are in Tevaram (devotional hymns) composed by Nayanmars saints (South Indian Saiva Saints). 265 of the 275 Shivastalams are located in Tamilnadu. Two are in Andhra Pradesh (Sri Kalahasti and Sri Sailam). One in Kerala (Tiruvanchikkalam). One in Karnataka (Gokarnam). Four of them are Himalayan shrines (Tirukkayilaayam (Mount Kailash), Kedarnath, Indraneela Parvatam (in Napal) and Gowrikund). Finally two of them are in Sri Lanka (Triconamalee and Tirukketheeswaram).
