DETACHMENT Devotion is better than knowledge and desire less action is better than devotion We can reap the wished for harvest of our aim through prayer with perfect concentration. But the moot point is that normally we cannot marshal such powers of concentration to produce the required result because of the limitations of the kind of life we are used to in the modern world. But there is a way out. We can worship God in an almost equally efficacious way which is by trying to adopt His qualities in our own character and conduct. Imitation is indirect worship. The Absolute is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, infinite in dimensions and eternal in longevity. These are all breath taking attributes for us to cultivate and remain fantasies of a wish land to remodel our character on their basis. There is, however, a quality of the Absolute, which can and also should, be practiced by ordinary mortals like us, if we aim at salvation. Though the Paramatma (almighty).is the sole motive force behind all the activity of the universe, He always remains in the background as a most disinterested spectator of the whole drama. His mere presence animates the universe into activity but He does not at all take any active part in it. That is not an inimitable trait in Him and we can acquire it as a part of our nature and adopt it in our daily movements in the world. For that we should look at everything we come across in our lives dispassionately and do any work for its own sake, as a matter of duty but not wishing for the fruit of that effort. Just as a number of the audience is not personally affected by the fortunes or misfortunes of the characters on the stage, so too a spectator like attitude towards any work we execute, does not involve us in the clutches of Karma. If we do so we reach God through another path, an alternative to prayer with full concentration. All our sacred scriptures too assert in unequivocal terms that detachment creates no Karma and that, therefore, there will be no rebirth. Om Shantih Shantih Shantihi Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu To be continued… --------------- 2. SAI'S NEWS FROM THE TIME MACHINE: February 22, 1914: A Sadhak of Yoga (Swami Ram Baba) visited Shirdi and seeing Baba eating Roti with onion got suspicious and disappointed. However Baba proved His power of Omniscience by reading his mind and the Sadhak returned highly satisfied and blessed ----------------- 3. SAI IN DREAMS: http://www.ettitudemedia.com These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSaji >From our beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that this feature will help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and presented to SAIBANDHUS. Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY. 26-12-1994 Yesterday's prayer was to request Sai to extend a helping hand always towards me. Sai appeared in the form of a fruit vendor and said- "You do good bargain and give me the correct price. Why should I deceive you."? With this Sai conveyed that once we give HIM the coins of Shraddha and Saburi, the fruits received would be certainly matching the devotion. Place the trust and do the best, for rest to follow. 28-12-1994 I prayed Lord Sai to grant me with the mindset to read Sai Satcharita as a matter of routine. The visual invoked a big surprise for me- I was standing in front of the sea watching the horizon and desired to run towards the sea till my last breath. Then an unknown person came and said that this piece of camphor will give you the desired power to run till the end. Keep it on your head and start running. But remember, the day the camphor totally sublimes into air; the run will come to an end. What a wonderful way to grant permission. Good decisions are always encouraged. To be continued…..
