Om Namah Shivaya!

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. There cannot be any dispute on

this, I believe. A clean mind should help one to keep the body

clean and the environment clean resulting in welfare and well-being

of all.

Just like one's own mind a temple surroundings, especially the

sanctum sanctorium, should be very clean. Clean keeping of the

temple should be everyone's concern, especially of those involved in

temple management and upkeeping. In a clean atmosphere only the

Divine Energy can be experienced by the Divine Energy seekers -

bhaktas.

Some days I introduced to the group the website of Nalanchira

Udiyannoor Siva Temple i.e. www.udiyannoorappan.org and the ten day

Mahasivarathri Utsav going on here.

A few months back there was Maha Rudra Yajna in this temple premises

and a humble bhakta like this writer could experience the Divine

Energy enhancement in the temple premises. Initially the temple

management was doubtful of raising the expenses for the Yajna and

they were getting ready for even taking loans. But on the first day

itself, there were so much collections to meet the total expenses

involved. And, on completion of the Yajna and after meeting all

expenses the management saved around 1.75 lakhs of rupees. They sat

on it without taking any follow up action including the routine

maintenance and upkeep of the temple as well as cleanliness.

I strongly believe that by making money the God, we have dethrone

God. The high energy created by Yajna starting coming down day by

day and reached to a rock bottom level. Flag hoisting of the Utsav

was on February 7, 2007. This bhakta started seeing vignas right

from a few days before. The same thing is happening almost every

day. A day before a bhakta had his prasada bhojanam first and then

went home and committed suicide. Another one bhakta had vomitted

blood and had to be taken to hospital.

I have noticed in Kerala Kshetra Samrakshaka Committees in almost

all temples. Such committees and committee members think they are

more than God. What samrakshan the mortals can give to the Great

Samrakshaka and Creator of this universe itself! It is time such

committees are renamed Sevakas or Dasas. Travancore Maharajah calls

himself Ananda Padmanabha Dasan. This is our tradition and cultural

heritage.

On the coming Sivarathri Day let us all pray to Lord Siva to give

wisdom to all to see the Divine Light, experience Divine Energy and

give away the "Aham". Instead of everyone trying to be the

Samrakshakan of the Lord, be His humble servant or dasan.

Om Namah Shivaya
